Correlation between Levels of Serum Prolactin and Total Sialic Acids Concentrations in Fertile and Infertile Women
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study was investigating the correlation between elevation of Prolactin levels and the increase of the concentrations of total sialic acids. The study was performed on 149 women consisted of 93 infertile hyperprolactinimic women (patients), age ranged16-38 years old, and 56 normoprolactinemic women as a control group, 18-37 years old. Serum prolactin (PRL) and gonadotroph hormones (Follicle stimulating hormone FSH and Luteinizing hormone LH) were measured using enzymatic immunoassay (EIA) method, resorcinol method for serum total sialic acids (SIA). Patients were divided into four groups, each group represented the level of prolactin of infertile women as follow: G1= (21-30), G2= (31-40), G3= (41-50), and G4= (51-60) ng/mL. Serum PRL levels in the patients groups were significantly(P≤0.05) elevated compared to the normal women. Serum SIA, FSH and LH levels showed no significant differences (P≤0.05) in the groups 1, 2, 3, and 4 when compared to healthy women (control). There was no correlation between serum prolactin hormone levels and SIA levels in the control and patients women. In conclusion there was an elevation in PRL levels, not combined with elevation in SIA, FSH, and LH levels. There was no correlation between elevation of PRL levels and total sialic acids concentrations in control and patients women. Thus, sialic acid has no correlation with the fertility or infertility in the women.

Purification and activation of the Iraqi bentonite for edible oil Production
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Samples of Iraqi bentonitic sediments, representing local montmorillonite brought from Traifawi region near the Syrian border. Mineralogical the samples were characterized as low grade of Ca-smectite, particle size, chemical analysis, XRD, and BET surface area analyses of the samples were carried out to examine the structure of bentonite before and after acid activation. The goal is to prepare a bleaching earth for edible oil production. Iraqi Bentonite was beneficiated and activated by series of physical and chemical steps, using 4N & 6N concentration of hydrochloric acid and at a temperature of 70-80 ° C. Surface area and pore volume of the samples were determined to assess the bleaching power
... Show More

SIMULTANEOUS OPTIMIZATION OF STANDBY AND ACTIVE ENERGY FOR SUB THRESHOLD CIRCUITS
...Show More Authors

Increased downscaling of CMOS circuits with respect to feature size and threshold voltage has a result of dramatically increasing in leakage current. So, leakage power reduction is an important design issue for active and standby modes as long as the technology scaling increased. In this paper, a simultaneous active and standby energy optimization methodology is proposed for 22 nm sub-threshold CMOS circuits. In the first phase, we investigate the dual threshold voltage design for active energy per cycle minimization. A slack based genetic algorithm is proposed to find the optimal reverse body bias assignment to set of noncritical paths gates to ensure low active energy per cycle with the maximum allowable frequency at the optimal supply vo

Gender Identity Disorder and Its Relationship to Family Upbringing of Adolescents

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the role of family upbringing methods in shaping adolescent gender identity disorder, to identify the causes, components, and disorders of the gender identity of adolescents, and to develop practical visions and suggestions to reduce and stop gender identity disorder completely. Due to the sensitivity of the topic, a questionnaire of five open-ended questions was posted on Facebook to collect the needed data, where (20) respondents answered these questions. The researcher took these (20) respondents as the study sample. The results revealed that excessive emancipation within the family, failure to employ family protection laws, and failure to monitor and follow up on

Enamel White Spot Lesions: A Review of Etiology, Prevention, and Treatment
...Show More Authors

Enamel White Spot Lesions (EWSLs) are a common dental condition characterized by being opaque or chalky white in appearance. In this review, an overview of the etiology, prevention, and treatment techniques for EWSLs is presented. Enamel demineralization caused by bacteria in dental plaque which releases acids upon the consumption of fermentable carbohydrates causing mineral loss is thought to be the main cause of those lesions, which could be predisposed through orthodontic treatment, poor diet, inadequate oral hygiene and certain medical conditions. So, sustaining an adequate carbohydrate consumption, proper fluoride exposure and good oral hygiene are some of the practices which aid in these lesions’ prevention. Although the suc

Mathematical Modeling and Kinetics of Removing Metal Ions from Industrial Wastewater
...Show More Authors

The study's objective is to produce Nano Graphene Oxide (GO) before using it for batch adsorption to remove heavy metals (Cadmium Cd+2, Nickel Ni+2, and Vanadium V+5) ions from industrial wastewater. The temperature effect (20-50) °C and initial concentration effect (100-800) mg L-1 on the adsorption process were studied. A simulation aqueous solution of the ions was used to identify the adsorption isotherms, and after the experimental data was collected, the sorption process was studied kinetically and thermodynamically. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherm models were used to fit the data. The results showed that Cd, Ni, and V ions on the GO adsorbing surface matched the Langmuir mo

Solubility and Dissolution Enhancement of Candesartan Cilexetil by Complexation with Cyclodextrin
...Show More Authors

At present, numerous novel chemical compounds face challenges related to their limited solubility in aqueous environments. These compounds are classified under the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) as either class II or class IV substances. Different carriers were used to increase their solubility. Candesartan cilexetil (CC) is one of the most widely used antihypertensive drugs, which belongs to class II drugs. The aim of this research was to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of CC through a complexation approach involving β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives, specifically hydroxypropyl beta cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD), methyl beta cyclodextrin (M-β-CD), and sulfonyl ether beta-cyclodextrin (SBE-β-CD), serving as

Measurements of HbA1c for Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Foot Ulceration
...Show More Authors

People with diabetes can develop different foot problems. In the blood stream glucose reacts with hemoglobin to make a glycosylated hemoglobin molecule called hemoglobin A1c or HbA1c, the more glucose in the blood the more hemoglobin A1c will be present in the blood. The HbAlc test is currently one of the best ways to check diabetes to be under control. The aim of study is to compare between the blood investigations which includes the fasting blood sugar and HbAlC (glycosylated hemoglobin), and to evaluate the benefit of HbAlc (measurement for diabetic patients with foot ulcer, to be a good indicator for controlling blood glucose). Sixty patients with type2 diabetes mellitus from the outpatient clinic of Baghdad Teachin
