3D geological model of Nahr Umr/Ratawi oil field in Basra
...Show More Authors
Abstract
The study includes building a 3-D geological model, which involves get the Petrophysical properties as (porosity, permeability and water saturation). Effective Porosity, water saturation results from log interpretation process and permeability from special correlation using core data and log data. Clay volume can be calculated by six ways using IP software v3.5 the best way was by using gamma Ray. Also, Water Resistivity, flushed zone saturation and bulk volume analysis determined through geological study. Lithology determined in several ways using M-N matrix Identification, Density-Neutron and Sonic-Neutron cross plots. The cut off values are determined by Using EHC (Equivalent Hydraulic Unit) method. The full grid of the model was 454308 cells. Layering of units depend on the importance of these units and scale up had done using several methods depend on property (Arithmetic for porosity and water saturation and geometric for permeability). Petrophysical properties distributed using Gaussian statistical approach. Original oil in place calculated for Nahr Umr which equal to 460 m3.

Classification and Construction of (k,3)-Arcs on Projective Plane Over Galois Field GF(7)
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this work is to study the classification and construction of (k,3)-arcs in the projective plane PG(2,7). We found that there are two (5,3)-arcs, four (6,3)-arcs, six (7,3)arcs, six (8,3)-arcs, seven (9,3)-arcs, six (10,3)-arcs and six (11,3)-arcs. All of these arcs are incomplete. The number of distinct (12,3)-arcs are six, two of them are complete. There are four distinct (13,3)-arcs, two of them are complete and one (14,3)-arc which is incomplete. There exists one complete (15,3)-arc.

Correlation of Penetration Rate with Drilling Parameters For an Iraqi Field Using Mud Logging Data
...Show More Authors

This paper provides an attempt for modeling rate of penetration (ROP) for an Iraqi oil field with aid of mud logging data. Data of Umm Radhuma formation was selected for this modeling. These data include weight on bit, rotary speed, flow rate and mud density. A statistical approach was applied on these data for improving rate of penetration modeling. As result, an empirical linear ROP model has been developed with good fitness when compared with actual data. Also, a nonlinear regression analysis of different forms was attempted, and the results showed that the power model has good predicting capability with respect to other forms.

Comparison of Single and Group Bored Piles Settlement Based on Field Test and Theoretical Methods
...Show More Authors

Bored piles settlement behavior under vertical loaded is the main factor that affects the design requirements of single or group of piles in soft soils. The estimation of bored pile settlement is a complicated problem because it depends upon many factors which may include ground conditions, validation of bored pile design method through testing and validation of theoretical or numerical prediction of the settlement value. In this study, a prototype single and bored pile group model of arrangement (1*1, 1*2 and 2*2) for total length to diameter ratios (L/D) is 13.33 and clear spacing three times of diameter, subjected to vertical axial loads. The bored piles model used for the test was 2000

Estimation of fatty acids methyl esters FAME of castor oil in biodiesel samples using refractive index, density, and dynamic viscosity measurements
...Show More Authors

The content of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) is a crucial property of biodiesel and serves as an indicator of the transesterification reaction that converts vegetable oil into biodiesel. To facilitate the rapid estimation of FAME quickly in the biodiesel industries, simple methods such as measuring refractive index, density, and dynamic viscosity measurements were employed to monitor the progress of transesterification of castor oil to biodiesel. Blends of castor oil and biodiesel were mixed at different weights to find correlations between FAME content and refractive index, density, and dynamic viscosity measurements. The transesterification of castor oil with methanol was carried out to examine how the refractive index, density,

The Effectiveness of a Simulation Model of Thermal Insulation in Building Materials Using Cellulose Extracted from Agricultural Waste in Baghdad
...Show More Authors

This study found that one of the constructive, necessary, beneficial, most effective, and cost-effective ways to meet the great challenge of rising energy prices is to develop and improve energy quality and efficiency. The process of improving the quality of energy and its means has been carried out in many buildings and around the world. It was found that the thermal insulation process in buildings and educational facilities has become the primary tool for improving energy efficiency, enabling us to improve and develop the internal thermal environment quality processes recommended for users (student - teacher). An excellent and essential empirical study has been conducted to calculate the fundamental values of the
