This article reported the synthesis and characterization of new bent-shape liquid crystals compounds containing pyrimidine as a core unit and a 5H-thiazolo[3,4-b] [1, 3,4] thiadiazols ring with an amid group. This study includes reaction 5,5-diethylpyrim idine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione and two moles of chloroacetylchloride in N, N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) and triethylamine (TEA) to product compound [I], then reacted the later compound with two moles of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde to yield compound [II] then synthesis compound [III] by reaction compound[II] , thiosemicarbazide and mercap toacetic acid with sulfuric acid concentration, then the compound [III] reaction with deferent acid chlorides to product amid compounds [IV-VII]. The compounds were identified by melting points, FTIR and 1HNMR spectroscopy. The esomorphic behav ior was examined using Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and a polarized opti cal microscope.
Coupling reaction of 4-aminoantipyrene with 8-hydroxyqunoline gave the new bidentate azo ligand 5-(4-antipyrene azo)-8-hydroxyqunoline. Treatment of this ligand with the following metals ions (MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M(L)2Cl2]. The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption, FT.IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. Chloride ion content were also evaluated by (Mohr Method). From above data, the proposed molecular structure for these complexes as octahedral geometry.
Thermal decomposition of used tires was studied under atmospheric pressure and thermal heating program up to 350 °C for 110-120 min in a glass reactor. The effects of using MgO or SiO2 as catalyst in the thermal pyrolysis of tires waste on the yield ratio, reaction time, initial degree of decomposition also the contents of BTEX compounds in resulting pyrolytic oil was estimated via GC-FID. The results showed that the MgO catalyst gave a gas output in proportion of 17.063%, a liquid in a proportion of 38.245% and a solid product in proportion of 44.733%, while the SiO2 catalyst gave proportions of 14.308%, 40.161% and 45.448% for gas, liquid and solid products respectively. The results revealed that the thermal pyrolysis produced minor cont
... Show MoreWell dispersed Cu2FeSnSe4 (CFTSe) nanofilms were synthesized by hot-injection method. The structural and morphological measurements were characterized using XRD (X-ray diffraction), Raman spectroscopy, SEM (scanning electron microscopy), and TEM (transmission electron microscopy). Chemical composition and optical properties of as-synthesized CFTSe nanoparticles were characterized using EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The average particle size of the nanoparticles was about 7-10 nm. The UV-Vis absorption spectra showed that the synthesized CFTS nanofilms have a band gap (Eg) of about 1.16 eV. Photo-electrochemical characteristics of CFTSe nanoparticles were studied and indicated their potential application
... Show MoreThe MTX was converted to MTX nanoparticles by the modified method based on changing the pH gradually with exposure to ultrasound and shaking , changing the pH with exposure to ultrasound plays an significant role in the formation of nanoparticles, and this is shown in some previous studies. As the change in pH affects the nature of bonding between molecules, as well as the strength of bonding that depends on the change of electrical charges The exposure to ultrasound waves will greatly affect the breakdown of large particles into small particles that reach the level of nanoparticles. The MTX NPs formation was characterized by UV-Vis spectra analysis , Atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis, Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fou

This work contain many steps starting from esterification of isophthalic acid to yield diester compound [I] which was converted to their acid hydrazide [II], then the later compound reacted with ethylacetoacetate to yield pyrazol-5-one compound [III]. Afterword added acetyl chloride to give the compound [IV], the reaction of this compound with theiosemicarbazide led to produce a new carbothioamide compound [V], which was reacted with ethyl chloro acetate to yield the thioxoimidazolidin compound [VI]. The condensation reactions of this compound with different substituted aldehyde give new alkene derivatives [VII] ad. The synthesized compounds were characterized by melting points, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and Mass spectroscopy.
In this research, 5- membered heterocyclic compounds as oxazolidine-5-one J1-J5 derivatives were prepared using primary aromatic amine, aromatic carbonyl compounds and chloroacetic acid. By combining primary aromatic amines and aromatic carbonyl compounds, Schiff's bases were synthesized. Schiff bases are used with the chloroacetic acid compound to prepare oxazolidine-5-one J1-J5 derivatives. The compounds J1-J5 were described using NMR spectroscopy and FT-IR. .The biological efficacy was evaluated according to maximum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) toward Staphyloccoccus aureus and Esherichia coli. The best MIC was 210 μg ml-1 for J4 against the two pathogenic bacteria, while J1, J4, and J1 did not show any inhibitory effect against all
... Show More4-(((4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzyl)oxy)methyl)benzoic acid was synthesized from multisteps and converted to their corresponding hydrazide. The corresponding hydrazide was cyclized to their corresponding 5-amino-1,3,4-oxadizole. Newly Schiff bases (7a-7e) were synthesized from reaction the 5-amino-1,3,4-oxadizole with several substituted of 4-hydroxybenzylaldehyde. The resulting compounds were characterized based on their IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and HRMS data. 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazide (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays were used to test the antioxidant properties of the synthesized compounds. Compound 7d and 7e exhibited significant free-radical scavenging ability in both assays.
