Personalism emerged in a historical era in which the world, Europe and France were witnessing the end of a civilizational era that extended from the end of the Middle Ages until the beginning of the twentieth century, characterized by being capitalist in structure, liberal in method and bourgeois in values. Personalism came not only as an attempt to respond to a new era witnessing the birth of a new civilization whose features are still vague, but also as a response to the materialistic and existentialist Marxist school, which defined its ultimate goal as remaking the (Renaissance). Personalism originated with the French thinker (Charles Renouvier) in the late nineteenth century, but it did not witness its true revolution until the French philosopher (Emmanuel Mounier) who developed this idea and gave it a personal character that is consistent with lived reality and proceeds from it.
