A new modified differential evolution algorithm scheme-based linear frequency modulation radar signal de-noising
...Show More Authors

The main intention of this study was to investigate the development of a new optimization technique based on the differential evolution (DE) algorithm, for the purpose of linear frequency modulation radar signal de-noising. As the standard DE algorithm is a fixed length optimizer, it is not suitable for solving signal de-noising problems that call for variability. A modified crossover scheme called rand-length crossover was designed to fit the proposed variable-length DE, and the new DE algorithm is referred to as the random variable-length crossover differential evolution (rvlx-DE) algorithm. The measurement results demonstrate a highly efficient capability for target detection in terms of frequency response and peak forming that was isolated from noise distortion. The modified method showed significant improvements in performance over traditional de-noising techniques.

Modified Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods to Assess Classification Methods
...Show More Authors

During the last few decades, many academic and professional groups gave attention to adopting the multi-criteria decision-making methods in a variety of contexts for decision-making that are given to the diversity and sophistication of their selections. Five different classification methods are tested and assessed in this paper. Each has its own set of five attribute selection approaches. By using the multi-criteria decision-making procedures, these data can be used to rate options. Technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is designed utilizing a modified fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (MFAHP) to compute the weight alternatives for TOPSIS in order to obtain the confidence value of each class

Permeability Estimation by Using the Modified and Conventional FZI Methods
...Show More Authors

There many methods for estimation of permeability. In this Paper, permeability has been estimated by two methods. The conventional and modified methods are used to calculate flow zone indicator (FZI). The hydraulic flow unit (HU) was identified by FZI technique. This technique is effective in predicting the permeability in un-cored intervals/wells. HU is related with FZI and rock quality index (RQI). All available cores from 7 wells (Su -4, Su -5, Su -7, Su -8, Su -9, Su -12, and Su -14) were used to be database for HU classification. The plot of probability cumulative of FZI is used. The plot of core-derived probability FZI for both modified and conventional method which indicates 4 Hu (A, B, C and D) for Nahr Umr forma

Wettability of nanofluid-modified oil-wet calcite at reservoir conditions
...Show More Authors

Nanofluids, liquid suspensions of nanoparticles (Np), are an effective agent to alter the wettability of oil-wet reservoirs to water-wet thus promoting hydrocarbon recovery. It can also have an application to more efficient carbon storage. We present a series of contact angle (θ) investigations on initially oil-wet calcite surfaces to quantify the performance of hydrophilic silica nanoparticles for wettability alteration. These tests are conducted at typical in-situ high pressure (CO2), temperature and salinity conditions. A high pressure–temperature (P/T) optical cell with a regulated tilted surface was used to measure the advancing and receding contact angles at the desired conditions. The results showed that silica nanofluids can alte

The Determination of Critical-Sampling Scheme of Preprocessing for Multiwavelets Decomposition as 1st and 2nd Orders of Approximations.
...Show More Authors

One of the important differences between multiwavelets and scalar wavelets is that each channel in the filter bank has a vector-valued input and a vector-valued output. A scalar-valued input signal must somehow be converted into a suitable vector-valued signal. This conversion is called preprocessing. Preprocessing is a mapping process which is done by a prefilter. A postfilter just does the opposite.

The most obvious way to get two input rows from a given signal is to repeat the signal. Two rows go into the multifilter bank. This procedure is called “Repeated Row” which introduces oversampling of the data by a factor of 2.

Two Efficient Methods For Solving Non-linear Fourth-Order PDEs
...Show More Authors

This paper studies a novel technique based on the use of two effective methods like modified Laplace- variational method (MLVIM) and a new Variational method (MVIM)to solve PDEs with variable coefficients. The current modification for the (MLVIM) is based on coupling of the Variational method (VIM) and Laplace- method (LT). In our proposal there is no need to calculate Lagrange multiplier. We applied Laplace method to the problem .Furthermore, the nonlinear terms for this problem is solved using homotopy method (HPM). Some examples are taken to compare results between two methods and to verify the reliability of our present methods.

TOPSIS with Multiple Linear Regression for Multi-Document Text Summarization
...Show More Authors

The huge amount of information in the internet makes rapid need of text
summarization. Text summarization is the process of selecting important sentences
from documents with keeping the main idea of the original documents. This paper
proposes a method depends on Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to
Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The first step in our model is based on extracting seven
features for each sentence in the documents set. Multiple Linear Regression (MLR)
is then used to assign a weight for the selected features. Then TOPSIS method
applied to rank the sentences. The sentences with high scores will be selected to be
included in the generated summary. The proposed model is evaluated using dataset
