Structural and optical characteristics of pre- and post-annealed sol-gel derived CoCu-oxide coatings

Sol-gel derived CuCo-oxide coatings as solar selective surfaces, synthesized onto aluminium substrates at various annealing temperatures, are analysed by correlating their structural, chemical bonding states, and surface morphological topographies. As the annealing progressed, all the coatings displayed a Cu0.56Co2.44O4 (ICSD 78-2175) phase with preferential orientation along (400) reflection plane. Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction (XRD) data indicate that residual stress and microstrains developed around the coating surfaces are reduced resulting in mechanically stable thin films. Enhancement of the crystallite size and preferred orientation of the surface were confirmed via XRD, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis shows tetrahedral, octahedral and mixed states of Cu and Co ions with a stable atomic ratio of Co/Cu, and an increase of O and C contents but no metal-carbon bonding on the surface of materials. Optical reflectance investigations indicated that solar selectivity of the coatings increased from 3.81 to 24 as the annealing temperature reached up to 500 °C.

EFFECT AMBIENT OXIDATION ON STRUCTURAL AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF COPPER OXIDE THIN FILMS

The structural, optical properties of copper oxide thin films ( CuO) thin films which have been prepared by thermal oxidation with exist air once and oxygen another have been studied. Structural analysis results of Cu thin films demonstrate that the single phase of Cu with high a crystalline structure with a preferred orientation (111). X-ray diffraction results confirm the formation of pure (CuO) phase in both methods of preparation. The optical constant are investigated and calculated such as absorption coefficient, refractive index, extinction coefficient and the dielectric constants for the wavelengths in the range (300-1100) nm.

Synthesis of Fibrous Hydroxyapatite through Sol-Gel Route

The sol-gel route using an agar gel with calcium nitrate and phosphate solution as starting materials for producing hydroxyapatite (HAP). The product formed were needle like, zigzag and straight fibres. The fibrous products on sintering transformed into stoichiometric HAP with a biological Ca/P ratio of 1.67. The influences of pH, temperature, nature of base and phosphate solution on the growth of fibrous HAP were studied. The pH of the solution was found to greatly influence the growth rate and morphology of the resultant product. The optimum gel temperature was found to be 60oC and sintering temperature of 900oC for 1 hour. The crystalline, thermal, functional and morphological characteristics of the fibrous HAP were investigated.

Synthesis of CuO Nano structure via Sol-Gel and Precipitation Chemical Methods

Laser Densification of Prepared SiO2 Sol-Gel Thin Films

SiO2 nanostructure is synthesized by the Sol-Gel method and thin films are prepared using dip coating technique. The effect of laser densification is studied. X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transformation Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR), and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) are used to analyze the samples. Impact of Aluminum Oxide Content on the Structural and Optical Properties of ZnO: AlO Thin Films

Annealing effects on optical and structural properties of chromium oxide thin film deposited by PLD technique

Structural and Optical Properties of Cobalt-Doped Zinc Oxide Thin Films Prepared By Spray Pyrolysis Technique

Undoped and Co-doped zinc oxide (CZO) thin films have been prepared by spray pyrolysis technique using solution of zinc acetate and cobalt chloride.
