This research presents experimental and theoretical investigation of 15 reinforced concrete spliced and nonspliced girder models. Splices of hooked dowels and cast in place joints, with or without strengthening steel plates were used. Post-tensioning had been used to enhance the splice strength for some spliced girders. The ANSYS computer program was used for analyzing the spliced and non-spliced girders. A nonlinear three dimensional element was used to represent all test girders. The experimental results have shown that for a single span girder using steel plate connectors in the splice zone has given a sufficient continuity to resist flexural stresses in this region. The experimental results have shown that the deflection of hooked do

Zirconium oxide (ZrO2) was impregnated over prepared activated carbon (AC) and characterized by various techniques such as XRD, FTIR, BET, SEM, and EDX. This composite was used as a heterogeneous catalyst for oxidation desulfurization of simulated oil. The results of this study showed that ZrO2/AC composite exhibited significant catalytic activity and stability, effectively lowering sulfur content under mild conditions. Factors such as reaction temperature (30, 40, 50, 60°C), time (5, 10, 15,20,30,60, 80 100 min), catalyst dose (0.3, 0.5,

The melting point and TLC were used to confirm the purity of the inhibitors as well as using the [FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR] for the identify structures. The synthesized inhibitors were examined by potentiostatic polarization measurement as corrosion inhibitors of carbon steel in acidic media [1M H2SO4 ].The polarization measurement results showed that the mixed type inhibitors. In addition, the efficiency of inhibitors (YTBI) were studied at different con

In particular, yttrium oxide nanoparticle(Y2O3NPs) is familiar for technical applications because of its higher dielectric constant and thermal stability. It is widely used as a host material for a variety of rare-earth dopants, biological imaging, and photodynamic therapies. In this investigation, yttrium oxide nanoparticles (Y2O3NPs) was used as an ecofriendly corrosion inhibitor through the use of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy dispersive X-ray spe

The performance affecting galvanic corrosion process has been tested for three major factors affect the process:
1. Four PVA inhibitor concentrations were selected to be (0, 1000, 4000 and 7000 ppm) in simulated cooling water.
2. Two cathode: anode area ratios as 1:1 and 2.4:1.
3. Two distances apart cathode – anode as 3 and 7 cm.
Maximum corrosion inhibition achieved was 86% which indicates that increa
In this work, synthesized N4,N4`-bis(2, 3, 4 nitro benzylidene) biphenyi-4-4`-diamine(B1-B3) , was tested as an inhibitors in controlling the corrosion of carbon steel in NaCl 3.5% solution by using open circuit potential (OCP),at four different temperatures (293, 303, 313 and 323 K). Furthermore, the surface morphology was investigated using the Atomic force microscopy (AFM). The effect of using different Schiff bases and temperature was also investigated. Schiff bases was synthesized and characterized via using. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR)and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) characterized . Due to its manufacturing strategy, selective laser melting (SLM) is suitable for complicated configurations. Investigating the potential effects of scanning speed and laser power on the porosity, corrosion resistance and hardness of AISI 316L stainless steel produced by SLM is the goal of this work. When compared to rolled stainless steel, the improvement is noticeable. To examine the microstructure of the samples, the optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and EDX have been utilized. Hardness and tensile strength were us

Abstract
The aim of the present work is to control of metal buried corrosion by alteration the media method. This method depended on the characteristics of each media. The corrosion rates in different media (soil, sand, porcelanite stone and gravel) for specimens of low carbon steel were measured by two methods weight loss method and polarization method, weight loss measured by buried specimens in these medias separately for 90 days. The polarization method includes preparing of specimen and salt solutions have electrical resistivity equivalent electrical resistivity of these media. The corrosion rate of two method results in (soil > sand> porcelainte stone> gravel). The lower corrosion rate happene
