Inhibitory effect  of  Lactobacillus plantarum was studied against Escherichia coli O157:H7 in  minced  beef , as well as the effect of some Spices ( Garlic , Cloves and Black Pepper ) was studied against this bacteria . Plate count method was used to estimate the viable cells of  E. coli O157:H7 in the treated meat samples for incubation periods( 0 , 24  and 48) h.   Results showed  that  Lactobacillus plantarum had inhibitory effect  against  E. coli O157:H7 , when reducing the number of cells after 24, 48 h., and reached to Zero after (24) h. The objective of this study was to investigate the release profile of different fat and water soluble bases using diazepam as a model drug , and then to develop  a satisfactory formula with a rapid release of diazepam from suppository bases .The study was conducted using theobroma oil ,glycerol-gelatin and glycerol-PEG1540 bases using conventional mold method for preparation .while the later base was utilized to incorporate diazepam ( buffered solution ) in a hollow type suppositories. An isolate of Leishmania major was grown on the semisolid medium and incubated at 26ºC. The isolate was irradiated by He: Ne laser (632.8 nm, 10 mW) at exposure times (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) minutes in their respective order. The unirradiated groups represent control group. Growth rate and percentage of viability were examined during six days after irradiation. The change in these two parameters reflects the effect of irradiation on the parasite.
