Assessment of Information Security Risk Management System based on ISO/IEC27005 in the Independent High Electoral Commission: A Case Study
...Show More Authors

The current research aims to study the extent to which the Independent High Electoral Commission applies to information security risk management by the international standard (ISO / IEC27005) in terms of policies, administrative and technical procedures, and techniques used in managing information security risks, based on the opinions of experts in the sector who occupy positions (General Manager The directorate, department heads and their agents, project managers, heads of divisions, and those authorized to access systems and software). The importance of the research comes by giving a clear picture of the field of information security risk management in the organization in question because of its significant role in identifying risks and setting appropriate controls to manage or get rid of them, flexibility in setting controls at work and gaining the confidence of stakeholders and customers that Their data is protected. Compliance with controls gives the organization the confidence of customers that it is the best supplier and raises the level of ability to meet the requirements of tenders and then get new job opportunities, which encouraged addressing this topic by focusing on the basic standards of this specification and trying to study these standards and identify the most critical problems that This prevents its application in the commission understudy in particular. The Independent High Electoral Commission/National Office in Baghdad was chosen as a site to conduct the research, and the approach of the case study and applied research was followed and through field coexistence, observations, interviews, access to documents and information extracted from records and documents in order to determine the extent of the gap Between the Information Security Department of the commission in question and the system that the specification came with, analyzing the causes of the gaps and developing solutions, and considering The research was extended to the checklists prepared by the International Standardization Organization, and for the purpose of data analysis, the heptagonal scale was used in the checklists to measure the extent to which the implementation and actual documentation conform to the requirements of the specification, while determining the weights for the answers to the questions contained in the checklists by allocating a specific weight to each paragraph of the scale. The research used two statistical methods, the percentage and the weighted mean to express the extent of application and documentation of the specification paragraphs above and relied on the statement of the main reasons for surgery in the emergence of those gaps. The results that were reached showed several reasons that prevented the application of information security risk management, in the light of which treatments were developed that would reduce the gaps that appeared, the most important of which are: that the Commission did not adopt a clear and documented strategy to address risks, and that information security risk management Ineffective and completely secured from external and internal threats. There was also interest in documenting fixed Hardware and portable Hardware represented by computers used at the headquarters of the directorate, servers and small computers used as workstations in divisions and departments and their connection to senior management, as well as laptops and personal digital assistants, which showed a gap attributed to the total undocumented application of Hardware (automatic data processing), processing accessories, and electronic media), while the application was partially and undocumented for other electronic media, including disk drives, printers, paper, and documents.

Synthesis, characterization and biological evaluation of some new Schiff bases derivatives derived from 4-formylphenyl-2-(2,3-dimethylphenylamino) benzoate
...Show More Authors

New derivatives of Schiff bases were synthesized from the aldehyde derivative (Ma2) which was produced by reacting the mefenamic acid (Ma) with thionyl chloride to obtain the acid halide derivative (Ma1). Compound (Ma1) was dissolved in DMF and mixed with p-hydroxybenzaldehyde which was previously dissolved with pyridine to obtain the aldehyde derivative (Ma2). In the final step, derivatives of Schiff bases were synthesized by reacting the aldehyde (Ma2) with a number of different aromatic primary amines in the presence of glacial acetic acid to obtain the new derivatives Ma [3-10]. The new prepared compounds were characterized by melting points and with spectral data FT-IR, 13C-NMR and 1H-MNR (some of them). The vital effectiven

ESTIMATION OF COEFFICIENTS AND SCALE PARAMETER FOR LINEAR (TYPE 1) EXTREME VALUE REGRESSION MODEL FOR LARGEST VALUES WITH APPLICATIONS
...Show More Authors

In this paper we estimate the coefficients and scale parameter in linear regression model depending on the residuals are of type 1 of extreme value distribution for the largest values . This can be regard as an improvement for the studies with the smallest values . We study two estimation methods ( OLS & MLE ) where we resort to Newton – Raphson (NR) and Fisher Scoring methods to get MLE estimate because the difficulty of using the usual approach with MLE . The relative efficiency criterion is considered beside to the statistical inference procedures for the extreme value regression model of type 1 for largest values . Confidence interval , hypothesis testing for both scale parameter and regression coefficients

Electrochemical Properties of Natural Sensitizer from Garcinia mangostana and Archidendron pauciflorum Pericarps for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) Application
...Show More Authors

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) create imitation photosynthesis by using chemical reactions to produce electricity from sunlight. DSSC has been pursued in numerous studies due to its capability to achieve efficiencies of up to 15% with artificial photosensitizer in diffuse light. However, artificial photosensitizers present a limitation because of the complex processing of metal compound. Therefore, various types of sensitizers were developed and synthesized to surpass the artificial sensitizer performances such as natural sensitizers from bio-based materials including plants, due to simple processing techniques and low environmental impact. Thus, this study examines the potential and properties of natural sensitizers from the was

Coupling reaction of m-and p- amino acetop henone and p-amino benzoic acid with (LHistidine) gave the new bidentate azo ligands (L1, L2 and L3). The prepared ligands were identified by FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1HNMR and GC- mass sp ectroscopic technique. Treatment of the prepared ligands with the following metal ions (CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII and HgII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio and at optimum pH, yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M (L)2 Cl2]. The prepared complexes were characterized by using flame atomic absorption, FT-IR, UV-Vis and 1HNMR spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. Chloride ion content was also evaluated by (Mohr method). The nature of the com

The current research discusses the topic of the formal data within the methodological framework through defining the research problem, limits and objectives and defining the most important terms mentioned in this research. The theoretical framework in the first section addressed (the concept of the Bauhaus school, the philosophy of the Bauhaus school and the logical bases of this school). The second section dealt with (the most important elements and structural bases of the Bauhaus school) which are considered the most important formal data of this school and their implications on the fabrics and costumes design. The research came up with the most important indicators resulting from the theoretical framework.

Development of natural deep eutectic solvent‐assisted liquid–liquid extraction method for soap removal from biodiesel: Optimization and kinetics
...Show More Authors
Abstract
The soap content in biodiesel is an important challenge during the production and purification processing of biodiesel. Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) have recently attracted considerable interest as an environmentally suitable substitute for traditional solvents in the biodiesel industry. This work investigates the soap removal from the contaminated biodiesel using NADES. Eight choline chloride‐based deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were screened using the conductor‐like screening model for real solvents (COSMO‐RS) to identify the most suitable solvent for soap removal and were validated experimentally. The effect of NADES molar ratio, NADES:biodiesel ratio, mixing speed and extraction ti
... Show More
