Article Review: Immune Response against Some Bacterial Toxins
...Show More Authors

Bacterial toxins are considered to be virulence factors due to the fact that they interfere with the normal processes of the host cell in which they are found. The interplay between the infectious processes of bacteria and the immune system is what causes this impact. In this discussion, we are going to focus on bacterial toxins that act in the extracellular environment, especially on those that impair the activity of macrophages and neutrophils. These toxins are of particular interest since they may be found in a wide variety of bacteria. We will be concentrating our efforts, in particular, on the toxins that are generated by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. These toxins are able to interact with and have an effect on the many different types of immune cells. We utilize the Shiga toxin, cholera toxin (CT), and pertussis toxin as examples of Gram-negative toxins (PT). As examples of Gram Positive toxins, we use Alpha toxin, anthrax toxin, and botulinum toxin (BONT). In total, we look at six different types of bacterial toxins. According to the findings of the study, Shiga toxins, which are associated with the production of cytokines, chemokines, and macrophages, might thus result in post-translational modification. The cholera toxin induced a mucosal response that was mediated by secretory IgA, whereas the pertussis toxin inhibited the migration of macrophages and interacted with phagocytosis. The process by which cells take in and digest foreign material is called phagocytosis. It was revealed that S. aureus bacteremia led to an increase in the number of Th17 cells, while at the same time alpha-toxin led to a decrease in the number of Th1 cells. The anthrax toxin inhibits the synthesis of cytokines and chemokines, both of which are involved in the inflammatory response. This, in turn, causes the death of macrophages by necrosis and apoptosis. When being treated with BoNT, it was found that cells produced elevated amounts of TNF and NO in a dose-dependent way. This was determined after the cells were exposed to BoNT. This was the conclusion reached.

Genetic polymorphisms and adverse effects that affect the natalizumab clinical response: a review
...Show More Authors

The clinical response to natalizumab in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) may be significantly influenced by genetic variation. Mutations in genes related to the drug’s mechanism of action or the pathological milieu of MS can contribute substantially to interindividual differences in treatment outcomes. This review aims to provide an overview of previous studies that have examined genetic polymorphisms associated with the clinical efficacy of natalizumab. A systematic literature search was conducted across the PubMed, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate databases using targeted keywords relevant to the subject matter. Several genetic loci were found to be linked to natalizumab responsiveness, including the integrin subunit alpha 4 (ITGA4

Molecular Genetics Innovations in Diagnosis of Metabolic Disorders: Integration with Multi-Omics and Computational Approaches (Review Article)
...Show More Authors

Inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) are a diverse group of hereditary abnormalities that leads to a defect in metabolic pathway. Its diagnosis has been transformed by the innovations of molecular genetics and computational biology. Conventionally, diagnosis of IMDs is dependent on clinical findings and biochemical tests. Yet, these methods are limited due to a heterogeneity of such disorders and a large number of genes involved. The main objective of this review is to highlight the role of next-generation sequencing (NGS), including targeted gene panels, whole-exome sequencing (WES), and whole-genome sequencing (WGS), in the diagnosis of IMDs and providing reliable information in identifying genetic causes, and to explore the integrated an

Due to its safety, low cost, real-time nature, and widespread availability, ultrasound has been employed as a diagnostic technique for numerous intraocular disorders. Unfortunately, speckle artifact that depends on the tissue is seen in ultrasound imaging. In this study, we present a technique for lowering speckle noise and enhancing ultrasound images to enhance human diagnostic performance. This technique combines the undecimated wavelet transform (UDWT) with a wavelet coefficient mapping function, which was utilized to improve the contrast of the denoised images acquired from the first component after the noise was removed using the UDWT. This technique can be used to enhance the visual quality of medical photographs as well as to enha

THE ROLE OF BACTERIA IN REDUCING THE IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION: BETWEEN RISKS AND BENEFITS / A REVIEW ARTICLE
...Show More Authors

The objective of this article is to study the impact of environmental pollution on air, water, and soil quality with a focus on the role of environmental bacteria in bioremediation of pollutants. The research also addresses the ability of some strains of bacteria to remove heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons and degrade toxic substances, resulting in improved environmental quality. Outcomes: Empirical studies reveal that environmental pollution leads to significant health and environmental problems, such as a rise in respiratory disease as a result of air pollution, water pollution that affects aquatic life, and soil pollution that decreases crop output. Other bacterial strains such as Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Streptomyces have also b

The effect of Yosef Hayim Brenner in the formation of the identity of modern Hebrew literature (review article)
...Show More Authors

This review aims to evaluate the intellectual and literary role of Yosef Chaim Brenner in reshaping the concept of identity in modern Hebrew literature, and draws a map of his period from the late 1890s to the period between the two world wars, when his articles, stories and memoirs contributed to the development of the Hebrew language as a creative and political medium in Palestine/Israel. The Ottoman Empire and the British Mandate rule (circa 1921-1895), and this review sheds light on narrative techniques, linguistic innovation, cultural differences and the modernist movement in Hebrew literature, and the conflict between religion and modernity touched upon in his literary works. Critical readings of the Jewish heritage with the introduct

The Association Between Immune-Histochemical Expressions of Program Death Ligand with some Aggressive Features of Prostate Cancer
...Show More Authors

Prostate cancer (PC), accounts for more than one-fourth of all cancer diagnoses, and the most frequently diagnosed cancer among men in 2022. The immunoglobulin (IG) Program death ligand-1(PD-1) cell surface receptor is predominantly expressed on the surface of many cells. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the relationship between Program death ligand expression and some aggressive features of prostate cancer including perineural invasion, vascular invasion and necrosis. Thirty cases of prostate cancer with age range from 60 to 80 year old and 30 cases of normal prostate tissue with age under 25 year old were separated into two groups in a retrospective case-control
