Synthesis of Some New Heterocyclic Fused Rings Compounds Based on 5-Aryl-1,3,4-Oxadiazole
...Show More Authors

The work includes synthesis and characterization of some new heterocyclic compounds, as flow: The compound (3) (5-(4-chlorophenyl) -2-hydrazinyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole was synthesized by using two methods; the first method includes the direct reaction between hydrazine hydrate 80% and 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-2- (ethylthio) 1,3,4-oxadiazole (1), the second method involves converting 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-amine (2) to diazonium salt then reducing this salt to compound (3) by stannous chloride. Compound (3) was used as starting material for synthesizing several fused heterocyclic compounds. The compound 6-(4- chlorophenyl)[1,2.4] triazolo [3,4,b][1,3,4] oxadiazole-3-(2H) thione (compound 4) was synthesized from the reaction of compound (3) with carbon disulfide in presence of potassium hydroxide. Compound 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-[1,2,4] triazolo [3,4-b][1,3,4] oxadiazole-3-amine (5) was synthesized from treatment of compound (3) with cyanogen bromide at room temperature in the presence of sodium hydrogen carbonate. Direct reaction between acetic acid and compound (3) in POCl3 affords 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-[1,2,4] triazolo [3,4,b][1,3,4] oxadiazole (compound 6). Five new fused rings derivatives (12-16) [6-(4- chlorophenyl)-3-(aryl)-[1,2,4] triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]oxadiazol] were synthesized by two steps. The first step was synthesized by corresponding Schiff bases (7-11) from reaction compound (3) with five aryl aldehyde. These Schiff bases were used as substrate to synthesize compounds (12-16) by treating these compounds with bromine in glacial acetic acid in dry sodium acetate. The synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIR,H-NMR,C-NMR and CHNS analysis.

Effect of Water on Some Mechanical Properties for Sawdust and Chopped Reeds /UPE composites
...Show More Authors

In this study, composite materials were prepared using unsaturated polyester resin as binder with two types of fillers (sawdust and chopped reeds). The molding method is used to prepare sheets of UPE / sawdust composite and UPE / chopped reeds composite. The mechanical properties were studied including flexural strength and Young's modulus for the samples at normal conditions (N.C). The Commercial wood, UPE and its composite samples were immersed in water for about 30 days to find the weight gain (Mt%) of water for the samples, also to find the effect of water on their flexural strength and Young's modulus. The results showed that the samples of UPE / chopped reeds composite gained highest values of flexural strength (24.

Effect of prey type on some reproductive aspects in crustacean zooplankton Macrocyclops albidus (Copepoda:cyclopoida)
...Show More Authors

The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of prey type (Artemia nauplii, mosquito larvae and paramecium) on some reproductive aspects in crustacean zooplankton M. albidus which included reproductive period, post reproductive period, period spend to egg appearance and the period from appearance of egg to nauplii releasing. Results revealed that females fed on mosquito larvae had the highest mean of postreproductive period and lowest mean of the period spend to egg appearance, which differed significantly (P < 0.05) compared with the means of females who fed on Artemia nauplii and paramecium on the other hand the differences were not significant in reproductive period and the period from appearance of egg to nauplii releasing.

Effect of silver nitrate incorporation into heat polymerized acrylic resin on some mechanical properties
...Show More Authors

Background: Polymers are very rarely used in their form. These modifications are carried out in order to improve the properties of polymers.Recently silver have been used successfully as antimicrobial (medical and dental) biomaterials that can prevent caries and infection of implants Purposes: The aim of the present in vitro study is to evaluate the effect of addition of silver nitrate to acrylic resin in different concentrationsthrough several tests part of these are: The effect of this additive on impact strength, transverse strength, and tensile strength of AgNO3 – loaded resin, and to assess any effect of addition of silver nitrate on coloration of acrylic resin. Materials and methods: Different concentrations of silver nitrate

Adsorption of Some Alephatic Dicarboxylic Acids on Zinc Oxide: A kinetic and Thermodynamic Study
...Show More Authors

The adsorption of Malonic acid, Succinic acid, Adipic acid, and Azelaic acid from their aqueous solutions on zinc oxide surface were investigated. The adsorption efficiency was investigated using various factors such as adsorbent amount, contact time, initial concentration, and temperature. Optimum conditions for acids removal from its aqueous solutions were found to be adsorbent dose (0.2 g), equilibrium contact time (40 minutes), initial acids concentration (0.005 M). Variation of temperature as a function of adsorption efficiency showed that increasing the temperature would result in decreasing the adsorption ability. Kinetic modeling by applying the pseudo-second order model can provide a better fit of the data with a greater correla

EFFECT OF ADDED ALGAE POWDER (ASCOMAX) TO THE DIET ON SOME PRODUCTION TRAITS OF BROILERS
...Show More Authors

The study was conducted in the poultry field, College of Agriculture, Al-Muthanna University from 1/3/2018 to 6/4/2018 to determine the effect of commercial Ascomax powder produced from seaweed (Ascophyllum nodocum) on some productive performance of broilers. A total of 400, one day, Ross 308 broiler chicks were used for 35 days. The chicks were randomly distributed to 4 treatments, four replicates per treatment (25 chick / replicate). The treatments were as follows: T1: (control treatment), while T2, T3 and T4 added diet by Ascomax powder by 1, 1.5 and 2 g per 1 kg of the basal diet, respectively. The results of the study showed a significant superiority (P <0.05) for the added Ascomax powder treatments compared to the treatment of control
