Role of the horizontal activator in class II malocclusion treatment
...Show More Authors

Background: the conflict in opinions about the dental and skeletal changes induced by classII malocclusion activator therapy is still present. The aim of this study was to assess theskeletal and/or dental outcomes of treating moderate-severe skeletal class II division Imalocclusion by the activator.Materials and methods: the sample consisted of pre and post treatment records(cephalometric radiographs) of 11 iraqi adolescent patients (7 females 10-11 years old, and 4males 12-13 years old). Results: the results showed significant skeletal and dental changes that reflected significantimprovements in the cardinal features of class II (overjet, overbite, ANB angle, and loweranterior facial height). Conclusion: correlation of the overjet, overbite, and ANB angle in moderate-severe skeletalclass II I cases by the activator into normal range values may be at the expense of unfavorablelower incisors proclination and ii angle which are very important for stability of treatmentresult. The activator can induce skeletal changes that reflect improvements in the antero-posterior and vertical relationships of class II I malocclusion (downward and forward growthof the mandibule, remodeling of glenoid fossa, in addition to the rotation of maxillary andmandibular bases). Acrylic loading and acrylic trimming done in the activator are responsiblefor the dramatic dental changes that can sometimes contribute to the skeletal improvements(extrusion of lower posterior teeth, relative intrusion of incisors, overjet and overbitecorrection, and changing positions of points A and B)

The Role of the Deubiquitylase MYSM1 During Alphavirus Infection
...Show More Authors

The Role of the Deubiquitylase MYSM1 During Alphavirus Infection Amer Nubgan The members of the genus Alphavirus are positive-sense RNA viruses and it is one of two within the family Togaviridae. Most alphaviruses are predominantly transmitted to susceptible vertebrates by a mosquito vector. Alphavirus disease in humans can be severely debilitating, and depending on the particular viral species, infection may result in encephalitis and possibly life threatening symptoms. Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is the aetiological agent represents a substantial health burden to affected populations, with clinical symptoms that include severe joint and muscle pain, rashes, and fever, as well as prolonged periods of disability in some patients. The Role of Specific Amino Acids in the Protection of Escherichia coli Against B-Lactam Antibiotics In Vitro
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT The role of specific amino acids namely cysteine, methionine, threonine and asparagine in the protection provided by vamin solution against B-lactam inhibition to E. coli was evaluated in vitro. In minimal medium, Cells were treated with 32 ug/ml of penicillin G, carbencillin, hostacillin, cloxacillin and cephalotin in the presence of specific amino acid supplementations. Deletion of specific amino acids from the media abolished the protection provided by vamin. Threonine was essential for the protection of cells against all tested antibiotics, while cysteine was essential for protection against carbencillin and cephalotin Deletion of methionine or asparagine abolished the protec- tion against carbencillin and to a less extent ce

Abstract

The research stems from the problem that focuses on a number of questions. They are as follows:   What is the extent of interest in the topic of efficiency by the banks and their role in raising the efficiency of the banking business and its development?  Is the banking efficiency used in Iraqi banks clear and specific for the Iraqi banking sector? How the banking sector efficiency is measured and what are the approaches adopted in determining the banking inputs and outputs? What is the level of efficiency in the research sample of the banks and what are the causes of its decline or rise in private banks individually and in the Iraqi banking sector in general?

Abstract

Nowadays, the world adopts a philosophy that relates to environmental conservation. This philosophy can be achieved through providing environmentally friendly products while satisfying customers' needs as well. To attain that, a new systems and programs need to be applied in a scientific manner, and total quality environmental management (TQEM) is among these concepts. The research aimed to analyze the Relationship between (TQEM) Practices and its effect on Flexible Manufacturing in Badush factory. The research sample includes managers and head of divisions at top, middle and front line management levels which were (27) working in Badush factory. Plant-derived Molecules for the Treatment of Tuberculosis: A Review
...Show More Authors

Synthetic anti-TB drugs are being used to treat tuberculosis (TB) as they are effective, however, they are accompanied by many side effects. The disease has remained largely uncured till date. The use of plant extracts or phytochemicals along with the anti-TB drugs is a very attractive strategy to make the treatment more effective as phytochemicals have no side-effects, are much less toxic than synthetic anti-TB drugs, are safe to use and most importantly, do not produce resistant strains as opposed to synthetic anti-TB drugs. Approximately 420,000 plant species have been identified globally and among them only a few have been explored for their therapeutic potential. Traditional medicine in different parts of the world has employed crud
