The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of lung infections among a group of hospitalized cancer patients who received chemotherapy as well as to describe a population of these patients. The clinical data and demographic information were collected from the archived files of  in-patients  referred to  hematology center  / Baghdad Teaching Hospital / Medical City , ministry of health, Iraq  during the period  of  2018.

Microbiological contamination by fungi impacts the quality and safety of wheat grain storage. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of cold plasma in restricting the growth of the fungus, Aspergillus niger, which was isolated from wheat grains. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) operating at atmospheric pressure generated cold plasma that was used to treat the fungus, and the impact of this treatment was investigated at various periods  1, 2, 4, 6, and 15 minutes. The results revealed a highly significant decrease in the growth and number of spores of Aspergillus niger compared to the controls. This study revealed an efficient technique for enhancing wheat grain storage that could be a foundation for further large-scale studies.

This experiment was conducted in order to estimate azulene and apigenin in chamomile flowers. Ethanol extracts were examined singly or in combination with some drugs in their biological activity against some pathogens causing skin infection. Ethanol extract was applied at a concentration of 40 mg/ml for the treatment of induced skin infection of mice. Among the topicals used, Claforan was found the most effective on microorganisms causing skin diseases; ethanol extract was more effective than the drug Candimazole solution 1%. The present study was carried out to determine the bacterial isolates and study their antimicrobial susceptibility in case of burned wound infections. 70 burn wound swabs were taken from patients, who presented invasive burn wound infection from both sex and average age of 3-58 years, admitted to teaching medical Al- Kendi hospital from October 2007 to June 2008. One hundred thirty four urine samples were collected from diabetic patients during the period from March –November -2014. From these samples there were 62.7% positive samples, women represented 45.3% and men represented 54.7% , some of them were a symptomatic as women represented 60.5% and men represented 58.7%  and some were with clinical symptoms with or without a history of UTI.
