Intravaginal progesterone sponges have been widely utilized to synchronize estrus in goats; however, extended use may be accompanied by vaginal microbial imbalance, vaginal discharge abnormalities, and diminished reproductive performance. Intravaginal probiotics have been suggested as an alternative to antibiotics for addressing vaginal dysbiosis, but their effects across varying synchronization durations have not been thoroughly studied in goats. The current study was conducted to assess the effect of intravaginal probiotic use in association with various progesterone sponge durations on vaginal microbiota and reproductive effciency in Black Iraqi goats. Forty-four adult goats (2–5 years) were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 11) for 7 and 14 days of treatment with a progesterone sponge alone or in combination with probiotics. Two strains of Lactobacillus (L. plantarum and L. acidophilus) were used in a lyophilized product (2×109 CFU/sponge). The following were assessed: cultivable vaginal bacteria (total bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, Lactobacillus), score of vaginal discharge, onset of estrus and duration of estrus, and early pregnancy rate. Larger Enterobacteriaceae and total bacterial counts, and lower Lactobacillus counts, were observed with prolonged retention (14 days) compared to the short-duration protocol (p < 0.05). Probiotic treatment showed significantly higher Lactobacillus counts (2.75 ± 0.69 vs.0.44 ± 0.25 log CFU/mL) (p < 0.001) and significantly lower Enterobacteriaceae and total counts, especially in the long protocol (Enterobacteriaceae 4.37 ± 0.36 vs.5.20 ± 0.44; total 5.26 ± 0.43 vs.6.14 ± 0.44 log CFU/mL), with a significantly earlier on set of estrus (29.82 ± 0.66 vs.33.00 ± 1.18 h), longer duration of estrus (29.91 ± 0.79 vs.24.73 ± 0.84 h), and milder discharge (Fisher’s exact test, p = 0.01 –0.03) than controls. The early pregnancy rate was numerically higher in the probiotic-treated groups but not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Overall, the duration of sponge use was associated with vaginal health and reproductive responses, with short-sponge duration protocols with high-dose Lactobacillus associated with decreased dysbiosis and enhanced vaginal health, suggesting a non-antibiotic strategy that warrants testing in larger studies for it spotential role in conception.
The nephrotoxicity induced by methotrexate is a severe condition that greatly affects its therapeutic potential and has a significant inflammatory component. Fimasartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker that offers organ-protective effects and may be useful in mitigating renal injury. The present study explored the anti-inflammatory potential of two doses of fimasartan against methotrexate-mediated nephrotoxicity. Albino rats were intraperitoneally administered a single methotrexate (20 mg/kg). Intraperitoneal treatment with fimasartan (5 or 10 mg/kg/day) was initiated on day two after methotrexate injection and continued for seven consecutive days. Methotrexate significantly increased serum urea, creatinine, and NGAL concentrations. It al

The volume percentages of yttrium oxide used are (4, 8.1, 12.1, 16.1 vol %) and the volume percentages of the chromium oxide particles used are (3.1, 6.3, 9.4, 12.5 vol. %). The parameters affecting the preparation of Y2O3/Al-Si and Cr2O3/AL-Si composites by direct squeeze casting process were studied. The molten Al-Si alloy with yttrium oxide particles or with chromium oxide particles was stirred again using an electrical stirrer at speed 500 rpm and the molten alloy was poured into the squeeze die cavity. Background: Premature infant born with immature body system, their organs are not ready for extra uterine life, and they are unable to deal with external stress, which could alter body functions such as cardio-respiratory function. In addition, poor muscle tone increases the chance of developing an abnormal posture. To reduce this instability, applying developmental care such as nesting is vital to promote cardio-respiratory stability, maintain position, and reduce stress in preterm. Objectives: The study aims to assess the impact of the nesting technique on preterm cardio-respiratory parameters in various positions (supine, prone, and right lateral). Lip reading is essential for speech recognition in noisy environments or for those with hearing impairments. It refers to recognizing spoken sentences using visual information acquired from lip movements. Also, the lip area, especially for males, suffers from several problems, such as the mouth area containing the mustache and beard, which may cover the lip area. This paper proposes an automatic lip-reading system to recognize and classify short English sentences spoken by speakers using deep learning networks. The input video extracts frames and each frame is passed to the Viola-Jone
