The electrospun nanofibers membranes have gained considerable interest in water filtration applications. In this work, the fabrication and characterization of the electrospun polyacrylonitrile-based nonwoven nanofibers membrane are reported. Then, the membrane's performance and antifouling properties were evaluated in removing emulsified oil using a cross flow filtration system. The membranes were fabricated with different polyacrylonitrile (PAN) concentrations (8, 11, and 14 wt. %) in N, N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent resulted in various average fiber sizes, porosity, contact angle, permeability, oil rejection, and antifouling properties. Analyses of surface morphology of the fabricated membranes before and after oil removal revealed

Composite materials were prepared by mixing the polyester resin (UP) with plastic waste, two types of plastic waste were used in this work included polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) and Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with varies weight fractions (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 %) added as a filler in flakes form. Charpy impact test was performed on the prepared samples to calculate the values of impact strength (I.S). Flexural and hardness tests were carried out to calculate the values of flexural strength and hardness. Acoustic insulation and optical microscope tests were carried out. In general, it is found that UP/PV

Show MoreZinc oxide (ZnO) transparent thin films with different oxygen flow rates (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5)Litter/min. were prepared by thermal evaporation technique on glass substrate at a temperature of 200℃ with rate (10±2)nm sec-1, The crystallinity and structure of these films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). It exhibits a polycrystalline hexagonal wurtzite structure and the preferred orientation along (002) plane. The Optical properties of ZnO were determined through the optical transmission method using ulta violet–Visible spectrophotometer with in wave length (300-1100)nm. The optical transmittance of the ZnO films increases from 75% to 85% with increase flow rate of O2, and the optical band gap of ZnO
... Show MoreIn the present work, polymeric composites were prepared for coating floors and swimming pools in dark colors. This was achieved through the use of a polymer coating solution added to fine cement with weight percentage (wt%) values of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 to obtain dark-colored (gray) composites. Mortar samples were prepared using the adhesion test. The contact angle and adhesion strength were studied for the prepared samples concerning the effect of changing the weight ratio of additive cement on water absorption. Also, the antibacterial activity was tested for the prepared coatings. The results showed that the contact angle increases with increasing the weight ratios of additive cement, which indicates that the
... Show MoreIncremental sheet forming (ISF) is a metal forming technology in which small incremental deformations determine the final shape. The sheet is deformed by a hemispherical tool that follows the required shape contour to deform the sheet into the desired geometry. In this study, single point incremental sheet forming (SPIF) has been implemented in dentistry to manufacture a denture plate using two types of stainless steel, 304 and 316L, with an initial thickness of 0.5mm and 0.8mm, respectively. Stainless steel was selected due to its biocompatibility and reasonable cost. A three-dimensional (3D) analysis procedure was conducted to evaluate the manufactured part's geometrical accuracy and thickness distribution. The obtained results confirm

The FT-IR results showed that the strong broad band observed at 3738.05 and 3857.63 cm-1 may be assigned to O-H stretching due to the strong hydrogen bond of intramolecular and intermolecular type in PVA film. When PVA is doped with 5M and 9M H2SO4, a new peak was noticed at 813 cm-1, this peak may be due to the fo
