Better Hole Cleaning In Highly Deviated Wellbores
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Many drilling problems (lost circulation, hurdle in running casing, poor cement jobs, high torque and drag and the necessity of re-drilling and, mechanical stuck caused by cutting accumulation in the wellbore) can be avoided by good hole cleaning during drilling operation especially in directional wells.

In this experimental work, the cutting transport ratio (CTR) in hole inclined (60 degree) from vertical was estimated by using three values of drilling mud viscosities, three annular velocities, two types of cuttings size and two rotation speed of inner pipe (RPM). Note that the rig consisted from PVC outer casing 4 1/2 inch as OD diameter and inner drill pipe 2 inch as OD diameter.

The experimental results showed that the Cuttings Transport Ratio (CTR) increased with increasing the annular velocity and better hole cleaning which obtained from the third velocity (3.247 ft/sec) for all cases. Moreover, increasing the mud yield point (YP) helped to improve the cuttings transport ratio; however increasing the mud yield point slightly affected with increased the annular velocity. Furthermore, it was noticed that the rotation of drill pipe (RPM) is one of the most important parameter for cuttings removal especially in laminar flow and transition flow. The cuttings sizes 1.7 mm are also easier to transport than 3.35 mm cuttings sizes for all cases except low yield point (YP).

Throughout what mentioned above, It is obvious that the aware narrator in these biography models was the strongest tool in presenting the content, especially the biographies under study were written by feminine hands, striving to prove her identity by all means and ways. In addition, we can suppose that the hiding of she writer behind the character is no more than a mask, by which she want to mask herself so that she can express herself frankly and freely, especially when she talks about subjects that are inconsistent with the society, customs and traditions. It is important to refer that the existence of the participant narrator in the biographies under study does not prevent the presence of another narrator such as external or aware na

Prevalence and molecular identification of Nematodirus helvetianus in camels in Iraq
...Show More Authors

Background and Aim: Camels from the central part of Iraq are infected with multiple parasitic diseases that have an economic impact by decreasing meat and milk production. This study aimed to evaluate Nematodirus spp. in camels (Camelus dromedarius). Materials and Methods: The study animals consisted of camels slaughtered in the central area of Iraq at the Al-Najaf slaughterhouse. All ages and sexes of camels were examined. Worms were recovered and identified microscopically. For molecular characterization, two Iraqi Nematodirus spp. partial ribosomal genes (ITS1 and ITS2) were sequenced and submitted to the NCBI database. Results: Of 160 camels tested, 29 were infected with Nematodirus spp. (18.13%). Twenty-one nematodes containi

The crude enzyme Nattokinase produced by Bacillus subtilis was used in ripening cheddar cheese by adding three concentration of enzyme 80, 160 and 320mg/Kg beside the control treatment without enzyme, the product was checked for three months to determine humidity, protein, fat, non-protein nitrogen, soluble nitrogen and pH, sensory evaluation was conducted, it was noticed that the variety in protein percentages and the soluble nitrogen percentage during second month of ripening for T2, T3 and T4 treatments were (11.2, 15.54 and 18.48) respectively, in comparison with control which was 7.6%, while in the third month it was (17.37, 20.67 and 22.26) respectively, in comparison with control which was only 10%, on the other hand, non-protein

Normalizing Society in George Lamming’s In the Castle of My Skin
...Show More Authors

This study examines the effect of colonialism on Caribbean society during the colonial period. Through normalization, the British colonial power diminished Caribbean identity and planted a new hybrid identity. Discipline institutions and surveillance techniques had a vital role in normalizing Caribbean society. Caribbean authors have adopted this notion of normalization to represent the reality of colonialism and its consequences. George Lamming, one of the Caribbean political activist and influential novelist in his novel In the Castle of My Skin (1953), reflects normalization as theorized by Michael Foucault. Lamming depicts the story of villagers and their life under colonial domination. Through discipline institution, like school, colo

Challenges and Issues in Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) Development in Iraq
...Show More Authors

This paper addresses the nature of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), considered as one of the most important concepts to ensure effective functioning in a modern society. It comprises a set of continually developing methods and procedures providing the geospatial base supporting a country’s governmental, environmental, economic, and social activities. In general, the SDI framework consists of the integration of various elements including standards, policies, networks, data, and end users and application areas. The transformation of previously paper-based map data into a digital format, the emergence of GIS, and the Internet and a host of online applications (e.g., environmental impact analysis, navigation, applications of VGI dat
