In this study, new oxazolidinone and thiazolidinone derivatives were synthesized through a three-step process. In the first step, o-aminothiophenol was reacted with p-aminobenzoic acid in hydrochloric acid to produce an amine containing a thiazole ring, achieving a product yield of 80%. The second step involves synthesizing Schiff bases (E1-E4) by reacting 4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)aniline with various aromatic aldehydes in the presence of glacial acetic acid. This reaction yields products of 76% to 90%. In the third step, the Schiff derivatives (E1-E4) are reacted with glycolic acid and thioglycolic acid to obtain the desired products. Oxazolidinone derivatives (N1-T1) were produced with rates ranging from 66% to 74%, while thiazolidinone derivatives (N2-T2) exhibited production rates between 63% and 80%. The synthesized compounds were characterized using FT-IR, 13C-NMR, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Additionally, all the prepared compounds were evaluated for their antioxidant potential through the DPPH free radical scavenging method. Among the tested compounds (N2-S2-T1-T2-Q2), all demonstrated antioxidant activity. When compared to L-ascorbic acid as a reference, compound Q2 was found to be the most effective inhibitor of the oxidation process. Some of these compounds were examined for their antimicrobial properties against two types of Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis), two types of Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp.), and one type of fungus (Candida albicans). The study found that most of the compounds exhibited moderate effectiveness, with compounds Q2 and Q1 showing the best results as anti-microbial agents
Background: Diabetic mellitus type ? is a metabolic disorder of diverse etiological factors, characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from an absolute deficiency of insulin affected childhood and adolescent. Some of these patients seek an orthodontic care .The orthodontist who is treating these medically compromised patients should have a working knowledge of the multitude of medically complex problems. This information will support and enable for delivery of high standards of dental care in general and orthodontic care in particular. The aim of this study was to analyze serum IgG levels and salivary secretory IgA (sIgA) levels in human dentine extract (HDE) before (T0) and 6 months after (T6) orthodontic treatment and to correlate anti-HDE

Show MoreThis study describes the preparation of a new bidentate Schiff base derived from the condensation of Isatin-3-hydrazone with 2-acetylthiophene and the preparation of new series of complexes with a good yield. The prepared ligand was characterized by IR, UV-Vis, C.H.N.S elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR, LC-Mass spectroscopy, and physical measurements. Its complexes were analyzed by C.H.N.S elemental analyses, UV-Vis., FTIR, NMR, LC-Mass Spectra, atomic absorption spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and conductivity measurements The results from spectroscopy and measurement studies showed that the ligand coordinated to the metal ion as a bidentate ligand via oxygen and nitrogen, forming an octahedral geometry around it. Methods: Baclofen was initially reacted with aromatic aldehydes to create Schiff base derivatives (Ia–Ib), which were then closed in the next step using anhydrous acids to form oxazepine derivatives (IIa–IId). Results: The title compounds were synthesized successfully and identified using FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Additionally, compound (IIc)’s (3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-[2-(4nitro-phenyl)-4,7-dioxo-4,7-dihydro-[1,3] oxazepin-3-yl]butyric acid) anticancer activity was assessed using MTT assay against FTC-133 (thyroid cancer) compared with WRL-68 (normal cell line). ... Show MoreType-1 diabetes is defined as destruction of pancreatic beta cell, virus and bacteria are some environmental factor for this disease. The study included 25 patients with type-1 diabetes mellitus aged between 8 – 25 years from Baghdad hospital and 20 healthy persons as control group. Anti-rubella IgG and IgM, anti-Chlamydia pneumonia IgG and IgM were measured by ELISA technique while anti-CMV antibody were measured by immunofluorescence technique. The aim of current study was to know the trigger factor for type-1 diabetes. There were significant differences (P<0.05) between studied groups according to parameters and the results lead to suggest that Chlamydia pneumonia, CMV and rubella virus may trigger type-1 diabetes mellitus in Iraqi pat

The ligand was synthesized by treating the 2-hydroxybenzohydrazide with salicylaldehyde. The structural characteristics of ligands and complexes were analyzed using various techniques, including elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, infrared, ultraviolet absorption, mass, and NMR spectroscopy studies. The physical measurements indicated that the prepared complexes are non-electrolyte and showed that the ligand is tetradentate when coordinated with metal ions through the nitrogen of azomethine (–C=N–), two oxygen atoms of O–H phenolic,
