The avian esophagus shows structural and functional differences related to feeding habits and habitat, with mucous secretions and amino acids playing key roles in protection and metabolism. The present study aimed to comparatively investigate the histological, histochemical, and amino acid profile characteristics of the cervical esophagus in the Iraqi pin-tailed sandgrouse (Pterocles alchata) and the red-wattled lapwing (Vanellus indicus). A total of eight adult individuals from each bird species (sandgrouse and lapwing) were collected from the Al-Samawah Desert, Al-Muthanna Province, and AlYusufiyah District, Baghdad Governorate, Iraq, respectively, between October 2025 and January 2026. Histological examination was performed using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), Masson’s trichrome, periodic acid–Schiff (PAS), and Alcian blue (AB, pH 2.5) stains. Amino acid profiles of cervical esophageal tissues were analyzed using highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The histological results demonstrated that the cervical esophagus in both bird species consisted of three main layers: tunica mucosa, tunica muscularis, and tunica adventitia, while the tunica submucosa and muscularis mucosae were absent. The mucosa was lined by non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium supported by a collagen-rich lamina propria. In the Iraqi pin-tailed sandgrouse, the esophageal glands were located mainly within the lamina propria, whereas in the red-wattled lapwing, they appeared as intraepithelial glands. Histochemical staining revealed strong PAS reactivity and moderate AB reactivity in the mucous secretions of both bird species, indicating the presence of neutral and acidic mucopolysaccharide. The HPLC analysis identified 18 amino acids in the cervical esophageal tissues of both species. Glutamine showed the highest concentration, whereas methionine exhibited the lowest concentration in both birds. Most amino acids did not differ significantly between the two species (p > 0.05). However, glutamic acid showed a significant increase in the Iraqi pin-tailed sandgrouse compared with the red-wattled lapwing (p ≤ 0.05). The present findings suggest that the cervical esophagi of both bird species may exhibit structural and biochemical adaptations associated with feeding habits and ecological conditions
The research seeks to find out the extent of the coverage of the Mosul press to the issues of psychological and social effects of the organization "IS" on the community of Mosul, by analyzing the content of the newspapers “Economic City” and “Mosul News”. As well as to stand at the types of psychological and social effects and their repercussions on the Mosul community including figures, statistics and evidence that were covered in the theoretical study of these topics.

Hemodialysis is used to reinstate the intracellular and extracellular fluid environment, by propagation of molecules in solution through a semipermeable membrane along an electrochemical concentration gradient. Blood catching in the dialysis machine and the recurrent phlebotomy may lead to losing about 1-3 g of iron per year. Prohepcidin hormone is an acute phase protein (type II) that plays a major role in the systemic iron irregularities as it is a mediator of anemia in inflammation and regulator of iron metabolism. This study aims to evaluate the effect of hemodialysis on iron hemostasis and its relationship with prohepcidin as an inflammatory mark

Numerous drilling additives and materials are used continuously because they are necessary to support and give the required properties of the drilling fluid so that to ensure the stability of the borehole. This paper aspires to evaluate the rheological properties of bentonite (montmorillonite) Trefawey as an alternative to using commercial bentonite. Monitoring and evaluating of the rheological and filtration properties were prepared. This exertion aims to focus on the effect of hematite, and barite on the rheological properties of the three aforementioned bentonite types. Performance evaluation is of great importance in all countries of the world, because it has a prominent and effective role in determining the efficiency and effectiveness of the optimal use of available resources, which are rare and important in achieving the desired objectives. With the continued growth of public spending and the limited resources, the State seeks to achieve its objectives through its units with minimal expenditure or deficit, rationality and wastefulness in the spending. In many countries, particularly developing countries, reforms are made in the public sector to achieve that goal through the adoption of IPSAS, which is reflected in the developmen
