Fabrication of (unsaturated polyester / carrot fibers) gel coat with high impact and compressive strengths
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Due to the low cost of both unsaturated polyester resin and the plant fibers along with protect of the environment, the wasted Carrot fibers were employed in this study to strengthen and color the resin. Carrot peels powders have been incorporated with unsaturated polyester/ natural fibers (UPE/C.F) gel coats to form a good candidate with good mechanical behaviors in different industrial applications. The wasted carrot peels fibers, were dried, crashed and milled into micro particles sizes (2.5% microns) to improve the mechanical properties (impact energy, Compressive load and Elastic Modulus) of unsaturated polyester. Micro carrot fibers (C.F) have been loaded to unsaturated fibers at (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5%) weight percentages using the (hand- lay) technique. The impact and compressive strength were measured using the impact Charpy and the universal compression test machine, respectively. The results show that the sample with (4%) carrot peels fibers has the highest of both the resistance to impact and compression forces. The impact energy was improved from (0.28 Joule) for pristine UPE to (0.39 Joule) for (UPE/4% C.F) composite. Also, the elastic modulus has been improved from (4.3 GPa) for (UPE) to (4.8 GPa) for (UPE/4%C. F). By applying the compressive force in the range of (1000 – 6000) N, the (UPE/ 4% C.F) sample shows the highest elasticity. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of the fractured surface of unsaturated polyester reinforced with carrot fibers have been used for interpretation the mechanical properties.</p>

Hydrodesulfurization and Hydrodearomatization of Kerosene over high metal loading Ni w/γ-Al2O3 Catalyst
...Show More Authors

The present research investigates hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodearomatization (HAD) of raw kerosene with 0.364 wt. % sulfur and 16.498 wt. % aromatics supplied from Al-Dura Refinery. Hydrotreating reactions were carried out in one stage reactor over high metal  Ni W/γ-Al2O3 prepared catalyst at different temperatures 275-350oC, pressures 32-62 bar, LHSV 1-4 hr-1, and H2/HC ratios 200-500. The prepared catalyst was pre-sulfided remarkably at low temperature and high pressure to avoid risky of sintering associated with gaining the active sulfide phase at high temperatures.  Results showed an obvious differences between HDS and HAD rates due to difficulty of polyaromatics saturation compared with desulfurization. Sulfur and

Developing and Applying the Unrealistic Optimism Scale among Junior High School Students
...Show More Authors

The present study aims to develop and apply the unrealistic optimism scale among high school students. The researcher has designed a scale of (38) paragraphs to measure the unrealistic optimism. A sample of (200) male and female students were chosen randomly to collect the needed data. The study found that the unrealistic scale of optimism has good psychometric characteristics. The research sample has a high level of التفاؤل غير الواقعي لدى عينة البحث unrealistic optimism. There is a statistically significant difference between male and female in the unrealistic optimism in favor of the male students. Finally, there is a statistically significant difference between students in the fourth and sixth gra

Clinical Observation and Performance of High Power Diode Laser in the Treatment of Oral Lesions
...Show More Authors

In this work, oral lesions belong to 17 patients, 7 males and 10 females. Their ages range between 15 and 45 years. Follow up was conducted after one day, 7 days, 14 days, one month, and finally 3 months postoperatively. The study lasted for 1.5 year. Surgical diode laser with wavelength of 810 ± 20 nm, with two power levels of 10 and 15 W were used in contact and in non-contact mode via optical fiber. The postoperative outcome revealed; greater haemostatic capability, dry, sealed wound and noticeable lack in pain sensation

Use of Panel Method in High Subsonic and Transonic Aerodynamic Analysis of Complex Aircraft Configuration
...Show More Authors

The application of low order panel method with the Dirichlet boundary condition on complex aircraft configuration have been studied in high subsonic and transonic speeds. Low order panel method has been used to solve the case of the steady, inviscid and compressible flow on a forward swept wing – canard configuration with cylindrical fuselage and a vertical stabilizer with symmetrical cross section. The aerodynamic coefficients for the forward swept wing aircraft were calculated using measured wake shape from an experimental work on same model configuration. The study showed that the application of low order panel method can be used with acceptable results

The Influence of the Hyaluronic Acid Gel on the Postoperative Sequelae following Surgical Removal of the Impacted Mandibular Third Molar in Comparison with the A-PRF: A Randomized Controlled Trial
...Show More Authors

One of the most common procedures in oral surgery is the removal of impacted mandibular third molars, often followed by pain, swelling, alveolitis, and trismus. Purpose. To compare the outcomes of the intrasocket application of 1% hyaluronic acid oral gel (HA) and advanced platelet-rich fibrin (A-PRF) on the expected postoperative complications, pain, swelling, and trismus follow the surgical extraction of the impacted mandibular third molar. Material and Methods. A randomized controlled trial was conducted at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, Dental Teaching Hospital. Healthy patients who required surgical removal of the impacted mandibular third molar were divided randomly into three groups. The extraction site of the group

Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete T-Beams with Multiple Web Openings under Impact Loading
...Show More Authors

In this study, a three-dimensional finite element analysis using ANSYS 12.1 program had been employed to simulate simply supported reinforced concrete (RC) T-beams with multiple web circular openings subjected to an impact loading. Three design parameters were considered, including size, location and number of the web openings. Twelve models of simply supported RC T-beams were subjected to one point of transient (impact) loading at mid span. Beams were simulated and analysis results were obtained in terms of mid span deflection-time histories and compared with the results of the solid reference one. The maximum mid span deflection is an important index for evaluating damage levels of the RC beams subjected to impact loading. Three experi

The Impact of Fear on a Harvested Prey–Predator System with Disease in a Prey
...Show More Authors

A mathematical eco-epidemiological model consisting of harvested prey–predator system involving fear and disease in the prey population is formulated and studied. The prey population is supposed to be separated into two groups: susceptible and infected. The susceptible prey grows logistically, whereas the infected prey cannot reproduce and instead competes for the environment’s carrying capacity. Furthermore, the disease is transferred through contact from infected to susceptible individuals, and there is no inherited transmission. The existence, positivity, and boundedness of the model’s solution are discussed. The local stability analysis is carried out. The persistence requirements are established. The global behavior of th

Preparation, <i>In-vitro, Ex-vivo</i>, and Pharmacokinetic Study of Lasmiditan as Intranasal Nanoemulsion-based <i>In Situ</i> Gel
...Show More Authors
Background:

Lasmiditan (LAS) is a recently developed antimigraine drug and was approved in October, 2019 for the treatment of acute migraines; however, it suffers from low oral bioavailability, which is around 40%.

Objective:

This study aimed to improve the LAS bioavailability via formulation as nanoemulsionbased in situ gel (NEIG) given intranasally and then compare the traditional aqueous-LASsuspension (AQS) with the two successful intranasal prepared formulations (NEIG 2 and NEIG 5) in order to determine its relative bioavailability (F-relative) via using rabbits.
