Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms or Water hyacinth is a fertile floating aquatic widespread in worldwide. The form of plants and the anatomy parts of this plant were studied. The most important feature was obvious the air chamber with intercellular spaces by amazing arrangement. As well can notice aerenchyma tissue allow the parts of plants floated on the surface of water located in the ground meristem of root, petiole and in the mesophyll of leaves also presence of two type of crystals raphides and styloid crystals was noted of various member in the plant in addition appear astrosclereids around the air chambers, to support the plant parts from the unsuitable environmental conditions such as the speed of water flow or floods or high levels of water.

In this paper, the species of the genus of Chlaenius Bonelli, 1810 (Coleoptera, Carabidae) were reviewed, and it was revealed that there are 21 confirmed species in Iraq; among them, the species of Chlaenius hamifer Chaudoir, 1856 was recorded for the first time in Iraq.
Diagnostic characters, a redescription of some of the morphological features, photographs and illustrations are provided for the new record species in this investigation.
Bioindicators have an important role in assessing the quality of water bodies. Aquatic oligocheates, was used as a bioindicator to assess the sediment quality of Al-Hindyia and AL-Abbasyia river (branches of Euphrates River in Iraq). Two sites in each river have been chosen for this purpose, site S1 was located at Al-Hindyia River and S2 at Al-Abbasyia River. Some kinds of biological indices were used in this study, comprising the percentage of oligochaetes in benthic invertebrates, ranged from 20.3-60.16%. The Turonian-Lower Companian succession at Majnoon Oil Field is represented by the Khasib, Tanuma, and Saadi formations. Four major paleoenvironments were recognized within the studied succession, there are: Shallow open marine environment, shoal environment, deep marine environment, and basinal environment.
