Background: A noninvasive method of determining the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) is the use of cardiac biomarkers. This study aimed to investigate the use of serum levels of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) and N-terminal pro–B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in determining CAD severity. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 125 participants categorized by coronary angiographic results into 3 groups: group I (no or < 50% stenosis), group II (1 or 2 vessels with ≥ 50% stenosis), and group III (left main stem or ≥ 3 vessels with ≥ 50% obstruction). Serum hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0 and described as percentages, means, medians, and interquartile ranges (Q1–Q3). Receiver operating characteristic curves and relative quality were applied for both biomarkers. Results: Median hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP levels were higher in group III than in groups I and II (P = .001). Both were higher in group II than in group I (P = .001). Receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP effectively discriminated vascular obstruction severity with high sensitivity and specificity. Relative quality testing results showed a slight increase in predictive ability when the 2 biomarkers were combined. Conclusions: Serum hs-cTnI and NT-proBNP levels, combined or separately, can be used to assess CAD severity concerning the number of diseased vessels, which may help improve risk stratification and management strategy selection. This study illustrates in vitro effect of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) on the treatment of Leishmania. In addition, the study evaluated the effect of drug treatment (pentostam) and the combination treatment of pentostan and CAP at different doses and incubation time 24 h in order to assess the most effective treatment. The duration of the cold plasma doses was 1 min, 2 min and 3 min, while the pentostam doses were 2.5 µg/ml and 5 µg/ml. The combinations therapies included combining the three cold plasma doses with the pentostam doses to test 6 combinations of treated in vitro. The maximum growth inhibition was given by combination treated 46% and 44% for donovani and tropica leishamnia respectively; these results give an indi

The city of Samawah is one of the most important cities which emerged in the poverty area within the poverty map produced by the Ministry of Planning, despite being an important provincial centre. Although it has great development potentials, it was neglected for more than 50 years,. This dereliction has caused a series of negative accumulations at the urban levels (environmental, social and economic). Therefore, the basic idea of this research is to detect part of these challenges that are preventing growth and development of the city. The methodology of the research is to extrapolate the reality with the analysis of the results, data and environmental impact assessment of the projec
The present study investigates the use of intensifiers as linguisticdevices employed by Charles Dickens in Hard Times. For ease of analysis, the data are obtained by a rigorous observation of spontaneously occurring intensifiers in the text. The study aims at exploring the pragmatic functions and aesthetic impact of using intensifiers in Hard Times. The current study is mainly descriptive analytical and is based on analyzing and interpreting the use of intensifiers in terms ofHolmes (1984) andCacchiani’smodel (2009). From the findings, the novelist overuses intensifiers to the extent that 280 intensifiers are used in the text. These intensifiers(218) are undistinguished

This paper aims to investigate the difficulties that a translator may face when dealing with legal texts such as marriage and divorce contracts. These difficulties can be classified according to the present paper into syntactic, semantic, and cultural. The syntactic difficulties include word order, syntactic arrangement, unusual sentence structure, the use of model verbs in English, and difference in legal system. As to the semantic difficulties, they involve lack of established terminology, finding functional and lexical equivalence, word for word t

Cognitive appraisal is one of the tokens that includes three paradigms of assessing the performance of translation, it can be addressed from the perspective of emotions, intuitions, and individual styles of the SL and the method of transfer into TL. The study hypothesized that translators create a similar emotional charge due to their mental capability to build the same emotional effect in the TL audience. The study also proposed that the applicability of cognitive appraisal is a valuable method of evaluating the translation process, as pertinent to TPR. The
