Improving Surface Properties of PEEK for Dental Applications by Using Piranha Solution
...Show More Authors

Background. “Polyetheretherketone (PEEK)” is a biocompatible, high-strength polymer that is well-suited for use in dental applications due to its unique properties. However, achieving good adhesion between PEEK and hydrophilic materials such as dental adhesives or cement can be challenging. Also, this hydrophobicity may affect the use of PEEK as an implant material. Surface treatment or conditioning is often necessary to improve surface properties. The piranha solution is the treatment of choice to be explored for this purpose. Methods. PEEK disks of 10 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness were used in this study. Those samples were divided into five groups (each group has five samples). The first is the control group, in which no

Optimum conditions for Inulinase production by Aspergillus niger using solid state fermentation
...Show More Authors

Thirty local fungal isolates according to Aspergillus niger were screened for Inulinase production on synthetic solid medium depending on inulin hydrolysis appear as clear zone around fungal colony. Semi-quantitative screening was performed to select the most efficient isolate for inulinase production. the most efficient isolate was AN20. The optimum condition for enzyme production from A. niger isolate was determined by busing a medium composed of sugar cane moisten with corn steep liquor 5;5 (v/w) at initial pH 5.0 for 96 hours at 30 0C . Enzyme productivity was tested for each of the yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus, the fungus A. niger AN20 and for a mixed culture of A. niger and K. marxianus. The productivity of A. niger gave the highest

Impact of Pandemic SARS COVID-19 on Different Construction Project Management: Problems and Solutions
...Show More Authors

This study discusses risk management strategies caused by pandemic-related (Covid-19) suspensions in thirty-six engineering projects of different types and sizes selected from countries in the middle east and especially Iraq. The primary data collection method was a survey and questionnaire completed by selected project crew and laborers. Data were processed using Microsoft Excel to construct models to help decision-makers find solutions to the scheduling problems that may be expected to occur during a pandemic. A theoretical and practical concept for project risk management that addresses a range of global and local issues that affect schedule and cost is presented and results indicate that the most significant delays are due to a

An Analytical Study of Viewpoint in Parsi Pour's and Ar-Rikabi's Novels: The Dog and the Long Night and Alibaba's Sad Night as Examples: بررسی تحليلی زاویه¬ی دید در رمان¬های پارسی پور و الرکابی باتكيه بر رمان "سگ و زمستان بلند" و "ليل علی بابا الحزین"

It is noted in the title that the paper studies the viewpoint in the novel The Dog and the Long Night by the Iranian novelist Shahranoush Parsi Pour and in the novel Alibaba's Sad Night by the Iraqi novelist Abdulkhaliq Ar-Rikabi. Both are well known novelists, and about whose stories and novels many critical books, MA theses, and Ph.D. dissertations have been written. Also, some of their literary works have won prizes. Here, the researcher shed light on the concept of viewpoint, its types, and its importance in novels in general. This was done along with tackling the two viewpoints in both novels, where similarities and differences were identified. For this end, the researcher has adopted the analytic-descriptive appro

Time‐Dependent Term Identification in the Time–Space Fractional Derivative Diffusion Equation From Integral Over Specified Condition
...Show More Authors
ABSTRACT<p> In this paper, a time–space fractional order inverse source problem to determine the temperature solution and the time‐dependent source term from heat moment to the time–space fractional heat equation with an initial condition, homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, and integral overdetermination condition is investigated. Two unconditionally stable finite difference schemes are proposed to find a numerical solution of the direct problem. Namely, method I is based on the approximation of the time‐fractional derivative via Laplace transformation, whereas method II is based on finite difference approximation. The inverse problem is solved iteratively </p> ... Show More

Experimental and numerical study of the bulb's location effect on the behavior of under-reamed pile in expansive soil
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this experimental and numerical analysis, three varieties of under-reamed piles comprising one bulb were used. The location of the bulb changes from pile to pile, as it is found at the bottom, center, and top of the pile, respectively. PLAXES 3D was used to conduct the research. In expansive soil, the under-reamed piles were 350 mm long, with the pile tip in dense sandy soil. The experiment was carried out in both saturated and unsaturated circumstances. The influence of the bulb location on the pile's bearing capacity for vertical and lateral loads, as well as the amount of swelling pressure and upward movement owing to swelling, was investigated. A new smart approach of an efficient energy consumption management by using a machine-learning technique
...Show More Authors

Many consumers of electric power have excesses in their electric power consumptions that exceed the permissible limit by the electrical power distribution stations, and then we proposed a validation approach that works intelligently by applying machine learning (ML) technology to teach electrical consumers how to properly consume without wasting energy expended. The validation approach is one of a large combination of intelligent processes related to energy consumption which is called the efficient energy consumption management (EECM) approaches, and it connected with the internet of things (IoT) technology to be linked to Google Firebase Cloud where a utility center used to check whether the consumption of the efficient energy is s

Extraction of Oil from Eucalyptus Camadulensis Using Water Distillation Method
...Show More Authors

This work was conducted to study the extraction of eucalyptus oil from natural plants (Eucalyptus camaldulensis leaves) using water distillation method by Clevenger apparatus. The effects of main operating parameters were studied: time to reach equilibrium, temperature (70 to100°C), solvent to solid ratio (4:1 to 8:1 (v/w)), agitation speed (0 to 900 rpm), and particle size (0.5 to 2.5 cm) of the fresh leaves, to find the best processing conditions for achieving maximum oil yield. The results showed that the agitation speed of 900 rpm, temperature 100° C, with solvent to solid ratio 5:1 (v/w) of particle size 0.5 cm for 160 minute give the highest percentage of oil (46.25 wt.%). The extracted oil was examined by HPLC.
