Evaluation of Friction and Surface Characteristics of Two Types of Self-Ligating Bracket Gate
...Show More Authors
Introduction:

Frictional forces generation during orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances impedes appropriate tooth movement; hence, research is ongoing to explore “frictionless” techniques. This in vitro study compares Damon Q and Pactive self-ligating metallic brackets in terms of friction and surface characteristics of the bracket gates when using CuNiTi archwires during leveling and alignment stage and examines the effects of aging conditions on frictional force generation.

Methods:

A total of 108 metallic self-ligating brackets (Damon Q and Pactive) were investigated for frictional resistance with round 0.014″ and rectangular 0.014″*0.025″ CuNiTi archwires post exposure to water storage and acidic attack aging conditions. The bracket gate surface characteristics were evaluated using scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Results:

There was no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05) in friction generation between the two bracket systems when coupled with 0.014″ CuNiTi archwire, but the Pactive brackets yielded significantly higher frictional forces (P < 0.05) when coupled with 0.014″*0.025″ archwire. The SEM findings revealed nonsignificant differences (P > 0.05) between the surface characteristics of the bracket gates.

Conclusions:

Damon Q brackets generate low frictional forces, suggesting better performance than Pactive brackets during the first phase of orthodontic treatment. A modified scoring system was developed for an objective description of bracket surface characteristics.

An Efficient Shrinkage Estimators For Generalized Inverse Rayleigh Distribution Based On Bounded And Series Stress-Strength Models
...Show More Authors
Abstract
In this paper, we investigate two stress-strength models (Bounded and Series) in systems reliability based on Generalized Inverse Rayleigh distribution. To obtain some estimates of shrinkage estimators, Bayesian methods under informative and non-informative assumptions are used. For comparison of the presented methods, Monte Carlo simulations based on the Mean squared Error criteria are applied.

Utilizing Konjac Sponge Carrier to EnhancePolyhydroxybutyrate Production Using Bacillus Subtilis and Loquat Seeds in Solid-State Fermentation
...Show More Authors

Solid-state fermentation (SSF) is an advanced bioprocess technique with several advantages; however, various challenges including nutrient heterogeneity and limited mass transfer. To address these limitations, this study investigated the use of konjac sponge as an inert carrier for Bacillus subtilis in an adsorbed-carrier SSF (ACSSF) system employing loquat seed hydrolysate, and examined the effects of substrate composition, moisture content, and inoculum size, which were subsequently optimized. The results demonstrate that the adsorbed carrier system enables better contact between the microorganism and the substrate, leading to boosted mass transfer and hence Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) production. Under the optimized conditions (pH

Emulsion Liquid Membrane for Pesticides Removal from Aqueous Solution: Emulsion Stability, Extraction Efficiency and Mass Transfer Studies
...Show More Authors

The current study investigated the stability and the extraction efficiency of emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) for Abamectin pesticide removal from aqueous solution. The stability was investigated in terms of droplet emulsion size distribution and emulsion breakage percent. The proposed ELM included a mixture of corn oil and kerosene (1:1) as a diluent, Span 80 (sorbitan monooleate) as a surfactant and hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a stripping agent without utilizing a carrier agent. Parameters such as homogenizer speed, surfactant concentration, emulsification time and internal to organic volume ratio (I/O) were evaluated. Results show that the lower droplet size of 0.9 µm and higher stable emulsion in terms of breakage percent of 1.12 % were

Material cost reduction using cutting optimization Pro5 and enhanced N-BEATS deep learning forecasting: a case study
...Show More Authors

Manufacturing industry is constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency of production processes so as to lower production costs, maintain product quality, and improve production planning. This study aims to provide an integrated optimization and forecasting framework that combines Cutting Optimization Pro5, linear programming, and an Enhanced N-BEATS deep learning model to minimize material waste and manufacturing cost and to predict the number of production items with a price-reduction strategy. The real industrial case study is based on production and pricing data from the Akad factory of the General Company for Electrical and Electronic Products in Iraq for the period from 2014 to 2025, concerning the manufacture of 80 L

The Decent Work Impact in Enhancing Job Immersion/ An Applied Research in Labour and Vocational Training Directorate
...Show More Authors

The research aims to identify decent work and its impact in enhancing job immersion. The questionnaire was adopted as a tool to analyze the sample responses of (81) workers to represent an estimated response rate of (88 per cent) out of the total population of (92) individuals. The research adopted descriptive-analytical approach, and reliability calculation, arithmetic means standard deviations, relative importance, and regression analysis adopted on SPSS v.25. The conclusion shows that there is a medium correlation between decent work and job immersion, and there is a low impact of decent work with its dimensions in job immersion; extract the most important acceptable components for job from the sample point of view about the o

Political Text and Its Translation into Arabic: El texto político y su traducción del español al árabe
...Show More Authors

Field of translation is sampled with many types of translation, such as the literary, scientific, medical, etc. The translation of grammatical aspects has always been with difficulties.

Political translation is the focus here. There are many general problems faced by translators when translating political texts from Arabic into Spanish. The aim here is to clarify the definition of functions or terms within the text, and to arrive at the correct from of translation of such texts from Spanish into Arabic. It is worth mentioning that the paper is of two parts: the first exemplifies what is meant by translation, the prerequisites of a translator, along with mentioning the methods followed&nbs

Application the Halder – Wagner to Calculation Crystal Size and Micro Strain by X-ray Diffraction Peaks Analysis
...Show More Authors

This study refers to the development and characterization of silver oxide nanoparticles obtained by X-ray diffraction, nanostructured silver oxide was used in order to calculate the micro strain and crystal size by Halder-Wagner method and by relying on X-ray diffraction diagram of the nonstructural silver oxide, where the results of the crystal size and the micro-strain were 4nm and 0.33 respectively. Other analysis techniques, such as the Size-strain plot, The X-ray diffraction study confirmed that the crystalline nature of silver oxide nanoparticles has a cubic structure. Through the X-ray diffraction results, the crystal size was calculated using Debye-Scherrer and Williamson-Hall methods. Halder-Wagner (HW), Size-strain plot, D

CONJUGATE NATURAL CONVECTION IN A POROUS ENCLOSURE SANDWICHED BY FINITE WALLS AND SUBJECTED TO CONVECTION COOLING CONDITION
...Show More Authors

Steady conjugate natural convection heat transfers in a two-dimensional enclosure filled with fluid saturated porous medium is studied numerically. The two vertical boundaries of the enclosure are kept isothermally at same temperature, the horizontal upper wall is adiabatic, and the horizontal lower wall is partially heated. The Darcy extended Brinkman Forcheimer model is used as the momentum equation and Ansys Fluent software is utilized to solve the governing equations. Rayleigh number (1.38 ≤ Ra ≤ 2.32), Darcy number (3.9 * 10-8), the ratio of conjugate wall thickness to its height (0.025 ≤ W ≤ 0.1), heater length to the bottom wall ratio (1/4 ≤  ≤ 3/4) and inclination angle (0°, 30° and 60°) are the main consid
