Abstract ABSTRACT:BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is one of the most commonly performed orthopedic procedures. Technical factors especially correct tunnel placement play major role in its success. However its failure rate is still high (10%), and impingement of the graft on the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) and the medial wall of the lateral femoral condyle is an important cause of failure. Wallplasty is a technique used to prevent graft impingement, but there is no consensus on its routine use.OBJECTIVE:Is to compare between the postoperative knee functional outcome and stability of arthroscopic ACLR performed with wallplasty versus those performed without wallplasty.PATIENTS AND METHODS: A prospective experimental non randomized study was performed on 32 patients (30 males and 2 females) who necessitated arthroscopic ACLR. The patients were divided into 2 groups, in group A (made of 16 patients) the reconstructions were done without wallplasty and in group B (made of 16 patients) were done with wallplasty. Three months postoperatively the two groups were compared in regard to Lasholm score changes (preoperative and postoperative), Lachman test, and Pivot shift test results.RESULTS: There was better improvement in Lasholm score in group B than in group A, and the difference was statistically significant (p value =0.036). Knee stability tests were better in group B than in group A, but the differences were statistically not significant.CONCLUSION: Wallplasty has statistically better functional outcome than non wallplasty in ACLR and it is recommended to be done routinely in all cases of ACLR.
Background: Nutrition can affect the development and integrity of the oral cavity as well as the progression of oral diseases such as dental caries which was the most predominant and wide spread not life threatening human diseases especially in developing countries as in Iraq. This study was conducted to assess the occurrence, prevalence and severity of dental caries condition and their relations to nutritional status among intermediate schools females in Al-Najaf city in Iraq. Materials and methods: This study was conducted among intermediate schools females aged 13, 14 and15 years old and the total sample consisted of 754 students. The assessment of nutritional status was performed using body mass index (BMI) following Centers for Diseas

The impact of this development is facilitating the tax accounting process, tax fraudand thus increasing the tax outcome. To prove the research hypothesis, an electronic system was designed based on income tax report, estimation note of individuals, in additional to using Adobe Dreamweaver application to write PHP, HTML, Javascript, and CSS web languages to implement the proposed system. The research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is; not enough the communication methods between the Genera

The population of the study includes the participants in the English Language course arranged in the Center. The sample includes 60 students who were randomly chosen from the whole population (participants in English Courses for the year 2009-2010). The sample is randomly chosen and divided into two experimental groups. The first group has learned through classroom technology; while the other group has l

This group of women carry the burden of carrying out multiple roles and responsibilities at the same time. All this collectively make them more prone to developing anxiety compared to men. In addition, the physiological and psychological nature of women, as females, on top of the other roles in life, like being a wife or mother or daughter or sister, all add extra pressure on women especially for those who are considered as productive working individuals in the society. The current null hypothesis has been investigated: There are no statistically significant differences at (0.05) between the scores mean of the experimental group pupils who were taught according to the deductive group pattern and the scores mean of the control group pupils who were taught according to traditional method in creative thinking testing. the study sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of (30) female students and a control group of (31) female students. The two groups are equalized based on the variables of age, the scores of the firs

Back ground: Skin grafting is the most common form
of reconstructive surgery, and regeneration of
sensations in skin grafts is a complex process
influenced by many factors such as , the thickness of
the graft, the depth of the grafted bed, meshing of the
graft, the condition of the bed and the surrounding
area. So many studies performed on this subject, some
of them clinically based on subjective type of sensation
tests, and others histological to detect the presence of
nerve fibers in the grafted skin
Objectives: To detect return of sensations to split
