Elucidation of a role for the aqueous extract of borage in mammary gland growth and development

Herbal remedies are used in induction of lactation. In view of that .Borage Officinalis was employed to ensure an abundant milk supply or rectify milk insufficiency .However, this remedy has not been scientifically tested .The animals were treated with the aqueous extract of Borage Officinalis flowers at a daily concentration of 100 mg / kg body weight /ml for each rat through Oro-gastric tube for 14 days. Animals were subdivided into subgroups according to their physiological status. Mammary glands of these animals were processed for histological, histochemical and immunohistochemical studies. Parameters indicated that the aqueous extract of Borage Officinalis flowers induced lactogenesis in the mammmary glands of virgin and pregnant rats

Abstract: Coriandrum sativum leaves are used in folk medicine to treat several diseases such as digestive system disorder, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. This study was designed to investigate the effect of aqueous extract of Coriandrum sativum on the structure and function of kidney, 30 males of white Swiss mice Mus musculus were divided randomly to three groups with 10 mice in each group. Green Chemistry Synthesis of Modified Silver Nanoparticles

Abstract<p>The important aspect of this unconventional approach is that eco-friendly, commercially available and straight forward method was used to prepared Silver Nanoparticles by using AgNO3 and curcumin solution as agent factor. The (TEM), (XRD), and (FTIR) was used to characterise these silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). Two types of bacterial isolates were used to indicate the antibacterial activity silver nanoparticles which prepared by curcumin solution, Gram negative like (Escherichia Coli E. Coli), & Gram positive (Stapha Urous). The results exhibit that silver nanoparticles synthesized by curcumin solution has effective antibacterial activities.</p>

Bacteriocins were partially purified by ammonium sulphate 50% concentraction, bacteriocin activity of Pediococcus acidilactici-FMAC278 was 25600 U/ml with 5.8 folds and 7.6% yeild, the activity decrease to 12800 U/ml after dialysis with 6.3 folds and 3% yield, On the other hand the bacteriocin activity of Weissella paramesenteroides-DFR6 was 12800 U/ml with 2.7 folds and 8.8% yeild, after dialysis the activity became 6400 U/ml with 5.1 fold and 3.4% yield, Chicken Sausage were made by adding 0.25, 0.5 and 1% particaly purified bacteriocin to study its effect on microorganisms and increasing shelf life of Sausage.
