The aim of this study is to evaluating the antibacterial activity of Laurus nobilis leaves extract in hospital environment isolates. Maceration and Soxhlet apparatus were used to prepare aqueous and methanolic extracts. The total phenolic content and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were conducted to determine the active compounds in the extracts. The results showed that the methanolic and aqueous extracts contain four flavonoids derivatives (kaempferol, luteolin, quercetin and Rutin) were identified on the basis of matching retention time with the standards. The total phenolic contents were 56.81 and 81.56 mg/g in 50 mg/ml, in aqueous and methanolic extracts respectively. The antibacterial activity of Laurus nobilis leaves extracts showed that the methanolic extract was more effective than aqueous extract in concentration 64mg/ml. Moreover, the result of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) showed that the methanolic extract on P. aeruginosa isolates was 32 mg\ml, while the MIC values of aqueous extract were 64 and128 mg\ml.
In this study, synthesis of polymer Nanocomposites through the blending of prepared polymers with polyvinyl alcohol (a synthetic polymer) or chitosan (a natural polymer) then mixed with nano oxide silica by many steps. The new compound [I] was obtained via reaction of 3,3’-dimethoxybiphenyl-4,4’-diamine as starting material with malic anhydride in DMF then treatment with ammonium persulfate (NH4 )2 S2 O8 (as the initiator) in order to produce polymer [II]. Also, we prepared new polymers [III-V] by using the same starting material (3,3’-dimethoxybiphenyl-4,4’-diamine) with glutaric acid or adipic acid or isophthalic acid in DMF and pyridine. In this study, new polymer blending [VI-IX] and [X-XIII] were synthesized from a prepared pol

In this research new ibuprofen oxothiazolidnone derivatives were synthesized from the reaction of Schiff base derivatives of Ibuprofen with mercapto acetic acid VI a-c, to improve the potency and to decrease the drug's potential side effects, a new series of 4-thiazolidinone derivatives of ibuprofen was synthesized VI a-c . The characterizations of the compounds were identified by using FTIR, 1HNMR technique and by measuring the physical properties.
Schiff base ligand (H2CANPT) was prepared by two steps: first, by the condensation of curcumin with 4-amino antipyrin produces4,4'-(((1E,3Z,5Z,6E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3- methoxyphenyl)hepta-1,6-diene-3,5-diylidene)bis(azanylylidene))bis(1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl- 1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one) (CANP). Second, by the condensation of (CANP) with L-tyrosine produces2,2'-(((3Z,3'Z)-(((1E,3Z,5Z,6E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hepta 1,6-diene-3,5-diylidene)bis(azanylylidene))bis(1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3-H-pyrazole- 4-yl-3-ylidene))bis(azanylylidene))bis(3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid) (H2CANPT). The resulted Schiff comported as hexadentate coordinated with (N4O2) atoms, then it was treated with some transition and non-transaction met

Early functional recovery is extremely important for elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures to shorten their hospital stay, omit the necessity of the further nursing and care services, and reduce associated medical expenditures . Assessment of (ADL) is an important predictor of outcomes Of orthopedic surgery in very early postoperative period at two weeks and a month postoperatively using Japanese orthopedic score get a quick recovery of ADL & return the patient to his or her premorbid level function reducing the morbidity and mortality.

Show MoreThe research aims to identify the importance of applying resource consumption accounting in the Iraqi industrial environment in general, and oil in particular, and its role in reducing the costs of activities by excluding and isolating idle energy costs, as the research problem represents that the company faces deficiencies and challenges in applying strategic cost tools. The research was based on The hypothesis that the application of resource consumption accounting will lead to the provision of appropriate information for the company through the allocation of costs properly by resource consumption accounting and then reduce the costs of activities. To prove the hypothesis of the research, the Light Derivatives Authority - Al-Dora Refin

Show MoreBackground: Red onion (Allium cepa L.) peels represent an abundant agricultural byproduct rich in bioactive flavonoids, yet their therapeutic potential against aggressive breast cancer models remains poorly characterized. This study aimed to extract and purify anthocyanins from red onion peels, characterize their active constituents, and evaluate their selective in vitro cytotoxicity against the triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell line CAL-51 relative to non-tumorigenic Normal Human Fibroblast (NHF) cells. Methods: Anthocyanins were extracted with acidified aqueous ethanol, purified using silica gel G60 column chromatography and characterized by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Through a copper (I)-catalyzed click reaction, the ligand produced 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between 2,6-bis((prop-2-yn-1-yloxy) methyl) pyridine and 1-azidododecane. All structures of these new compounds were rigorously characterized in the solid state using spectroscopic techniques like: 1HNMR, 13CNMR, Uv-Vis, FTIR, metal and elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements at room temperature, it was found that the ligand acts as a penta and tetradentate chelate through N3O2, N2O2, and the geometry of the new complexes are identified as octahedral for (Rh & Pt) complexes a
