The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of noise exposure in certain residential districts in Fallujah city. Twenty-nine stations were selected and divided into two groups; the first group was located 50 to 100 metres from the main streets (quiet areas), whilst the second was located directly on the main streets. Noise levels were measured at a rate of three readings per station for different time periods for approximately sixty days in the year 2020. Mean values were taken in both the morning and evening using a portable sound level meter (Auto range, RS-232). The highest noise level was measured at Alforkan station for the morning reading (83.8 dB) within the second group, while the lowest noise level

  The content of Furocoumarin derivatives (Psoralens) of Ruta Chalepensis L. (Whole plant) was studied by simple extraction with petroleum ether (b.p. 60-80C^o). The results indicated that the plant contains a total of about (0.015%).

       Investigation of these compounds by thin layer chromatography (TLC) revealed the presence of at least four compounds of which methoxsalen (8-methoxypsoralen) was isolated.     It was identified and authenticated with a standard by spectral method, IR, NMR, Mass spectra and HPLC.This plant could be considered as a good source for supplying this compound, which is widely used in dermatological preparations.

The research is an anatomical study for the stem and leaves of Galium aparine
L.The nodal anatomy was carefully investigated ,by the cross sections at the node
provide that what was called "cyclic arrangement" of leaves is in fact includes just
two opposite leaves which take their vascularization from the stele by two leaf
traces.The rest four leaf- like appendages on the node are stipules ,and take their
vascularization from the vascular ring which bond the two opposite leaves,and
refered for some morphological and anatomical characters of the plant species in this
work.

A chemical optical fiber sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was developed and implemented using multimode plastic optical fiber. The sensor is used to detect and measure the refractive index and concentration of various chemical materials (Urea, Ammonia, Formaldehyde and Sulfuric acid) as well as to evaluate the performance parameters such as sensitivity, signal to noise ratio, resolution and figure of merit. The present study includes a morphological investigation to

the plant specimens of the genus Trachomitum which assembling by one species in Iraq it is T  venetum (L.) Woodson. The specimens in

the Iraqi herbaria and that which is collected for the first time from new locations. After a detail  and specific investigation for all the

characteristic features, and according to the obvious variations between different parts of the plants we can identify the specimens of the   species  .T venetum   into  three  subspecies  which  are  subsp. armenum, subsp. scabrum and subsp. sarmatiense .

This study reflected on the relationship between contactin associated protein-like
2 gene (CNTNAP2) and autism spectrum disorders. The study includes forty autistic
patients and forty non autistic children as control groups (twenty unaffected sibling
and twenty unrelated children). DNA was extracted from Blood samples for
molecular detection of CNTNAP2 mutations associated with ASDs by using
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique and sequencing analysis. PCR reaction
was performed to amplify exon 20 of CNTNAP2 gene. The PCR results revealed that
identical bands related to exon 20 of CNTNAP2 gene were present in all samples.

The study includes the phytoplankton compositions in Alaaras Lake , in summer 2008 and winter , spring , summer 2009. Samples were collected from three selected sites at north , middle and south of lake. A total of 74 taxa of phytoplankton were identified . The diatoms were the dominated by 44 taxa represented 82.8% of the total indentified species, followed by green algae ( Chlorophyta ) of 20 taxa (8.5%), and blue green algae (Cyanophyta of 7 taxa (7.2%). Studies were conducted from 1980 to 1989 to determine the insect pests infested animal museum collections in Iraq. Twelve species of Coleoptera were recovered, eleven belonged to the Dermestidae, and one to the Tenebrionidae. Of these Anthrenus coloratus Reitt. and Phradonoma nobile (Reitt.) were the most commonest and widely distributed species. Trogoderma bactrianum Zhant. and Orphilus niger (Rossi) were recorded here for the first time in Iraq.
