Language as a means of communication has long been the concern of many conversation analysts in their studies such as: Sacks et al. (1974), Schegloff et al. (1977), Duncan (1972), Grice (1975) and Burton (1980). Burton has attempted analyzing the first ten transitions of the play “The Dumb Waiter” for mere a presentation of her approach. This paper aims at analyzing the conversational structure of forum on the subject of literary fiction and genre fiction by applying Burton’s model (1980) of analysis to answer the question to what extent this model is applicable in analyzing the presented text. The findings of the investigation have proved the applicability of the structure of conversation formulated by Burton (1980) in her model without modification.

This work includes synthesis of sugar tetrazole derivative, D-ribose reacted with acetone in the presence of sulfuric acid H2SO4 to give 2, 3-O-isopropylidene-D-ribose (1). The Aldol condensation of (1) with formaldehyde in methanolic K2CO3 solution gave 2-hydroxymethyl (2, 3-O-isopropylidene-D-ribose)(2). Which was tosylated by Tosyl chloride in pyridine to yield compound (3), SN2 reaction of (3) with sodium cyanide in DMSO afforded compound (4). The [2+ 3] cycloaddition reaction of (4) with sodium azide gave the targeted compound (5). All prepared compounds have been characterized by: TLC, Specific rotation, Microelemental analysis and [FTIR and 1 H NMR spectroscopy]

When writing a text, such as a newspaper article, various types of discourse markers are frequently used to group sentences into paragraphs and parts in order to establish a discourse with certain functions, such as coordination, orientation, emphasizing the concepts presented, etc. It should also be noted that this type of mark exists in both written and spoken language. Therefore, it is convenient to dedicate a chapter to these linguistic elements to clarify their use and their classification, which is mainly based on Jose Portolés (2001), as well as the main features, specifically their features (prosodic, morphological, semantic and pragmatic).

Abstract This research investigates how activated carbon (AC) was synthesized from potato peel waste (PPW). Different ACs were synthesized under the atmosphere's conditions during carbonation via two activation methods: first, chemical activation, and second, carbon dioxide-physical activation. The influence of the drying period on the preparation of the precursor and the methods of activation were investigated. The specific surface area and pore volume of the activated carbon were estimated using the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method. Experimental activity coefficients at infinite dilution are particularly useful for calculating the parameters needed in an expression for the excess Gibbs energy. If reliable values of γ∞1 and γ∞2 are available, either from direct experiment or from a correlation, it is possible to predict the composition of the azeotrope and vapor-liquid equilibrium over the entire range of composition. These can be used to evaluate two adjustable constants in any desired expression for G E. In this study MOSCED model and SPACE model are two different methods were used to calculate γ∞1 and γ∞2
