Smoking and central obesity have both been linked to periodontitis, but their combined relationship with periodontal disease may be influenced by demographic and behavioral factors. This cross-sectional study analyzed records of 420 adult dental patients attending the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad. Data included demographic characteristics, smoking status, periodontal clinical findings, body mass index (BMI), and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR). Periodontitis was defined according to the 2018 classification framework, and logistic regression models were used to examine the associations of smoking and obesity-related indicators with periodontitis. The overall prevalence of periodontitis was 36.4%. Participants with periodontitis were significantly older than those without periodontitis (46.0 vs. 28.9 years; p < 0.0001). In the fully adjusted model, age remained the strongest factor associated with periodontitis (OR = 1.15 per year; 95% CI: 1.11–1.18; p < 0.001). The apparent association between smoking and periodontitis was substantially influenced by age, as current smoking was more common among younger participants in this sample. The association between smoking status and periodontitis appeared to differ according to WHtR category (interaction term p = 0.016); however, this finding should be interpreted cautiously because of the cross-sectional design and age imbalance across exposure groups. Overall, the findings suggest that age was the dominant factor associated with periodontitis in this dental patient sample, while the relationship between smoking, central obesity, and periodontitis requires further investigation in longitudinal studies with detailed smoking and metabolic data.
Schizophrenic patients who are at great risk of relapse are characterized by non-compliance,
denial of illness and need for treatment and no contact with family. So, the prevention of relapse
and readmission to hospital are crucial in mental health practice.
The present study is a descriptive-analytical study that was carried out from November 2nd
2006 through the end of 20 of April 2008.
Objectives: To assess the associated factors with the risk of relapse in schizophrenic patients at
psychiatric hospitals in Baghdad city.
Methodology: A purposive "non-probability" sample of (50) schizophrenic patient who hasd

Background: Periodontal pathogens can induce free radicals over-formation and thus may cause collagen and periodontal destruction. Anti-oxidants are used as supplements to counteract the over production of free radicals in periodontal disease, that can reduce of collagen destruction. Coenzyme Q10 serves as an endogenous antioxidant, regenerates other antioxidants, stimulates cell growth, and inhibits cell death. Because it is an antioxidant, coenzyme Q10 has received much research attention associated with periodontal diseases. Perio Q gel may possibly be effective as a topical agent and as an adjunct to scaling& root planing in treatment of gingivitis and chronic periodontitis. Aim of study:Determine the periodontal health status in a foll

3D‐printed scaffolds loaded with healing directed agents could be employed for better treatment outcome in regenerative dentistry. The aim of this study was to fabricate and characterize simple 3D‐printed poly lactic acid (PLA) scaffolds coated with nanoHydroxyapatite (nHA), Naringin (NAR), or their combination, and testing their morphological, chemical, mechanical, antibacterial, biocompatible and bioactive properties. Methodology: Two variants pore sizes, 300 and 700 μm, of 3D‐printed PLA disc scaffolds measuring (10 × 1 mm) were fabricated. These scaffolds were dip‐coated with nHA, NAR, or both (nHA/NAR). According to what has been said by the proponents of these two theories; when the optimal return is realized, the efficiency of the market is achieved in terms of perfect information on prices and risk that supposed to be predetermined in a rational way.
he other question that imposed here is “at what time people should be rational in their investments in the security markets ?”. This means that investors are rational for their efforts devoted to utility maximization, which are p
