This work is an experimental study conducted to study the effects of iron oxide dust particles (Fe₂O₃) on the characteristics of DC discharge plasma in argon gas under vacuum. Electron temperature ( ) and electron density (n_e) were calculated by Boltzmann plots and Stark broadening, respectively. The results show that both the electron density and plasma frequency ( ) increased with the operating pressure. While,  and Debye length ( ) decreased with pressure. The glow discharge is more stable with the Fe₂O₃-dust particles; all dust plasma parameters have lower values  than those of the dust-free plasma.

The engine oil was contaminated with diesel fuel at concentrations of 0%, 1%, and 3%. In the present work, a set of indoor Radon concentration measurements was carried out in a number of rooms and buildings of Science College in the University of Mustansiriyah for the first time in Iraq using RAD-7 detector which is an active method for short time measuring compared with the passive method in solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD's). The results show that, the Radon concentrations values vary from 9.85±1.7 Bq.m-3 to 94.21±34.7 Bq.m-3 with an average value 53.64±26 Bq.m-3 which is lower than the recommended action level 200-300 Bq/m3 [ICRP, 2009].
