Association of Exon Deletion of MXI1 Gene with Cervical Abnormalities and Cancers Incidence in Some Iraqi Married Women
...Show More Authors

ervical cancer is one of the most frequently diag nosed malignancies representing the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in females’ worldwide, with approximately 500,000 new cases diagnosed and 280,000 deaths occurring each year. Mxi1, an antagonist of c-Myc, maps to human chromosome 10q24-q25, a region altered in a substantial fraction of prostate tumors, in prostate cancer, where a high frequency of loss and mutation of the MXI1 gene has been reported. The aim of present study was to find out the possible association of exon deletion of MXI1 gene with incidence of cervical abnormalities and cancers in some Iraqi married women. The present study include collection of 120 scraping cervical cells samples from women clinically diagnosed with cervical abnormalities and cancer, and 30 scraping cervical cells samples from apparently healthy women and all these samples were submitted for cytological and histopathological examination. DNA was extracted from all these samples, and then the singleplex PCR was performed with primers targeted the exon1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of MXI1 gene. The results of cytological examination showed that 30 (25%), 21 (17.5%), 15 (12.5%), 11 (9.16%), 2 (1.66%), 1 (0.83%), 22 (18.33%) and 18 (15%) out of 120 scraping cervical cells samples were detected for ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL, SCC, AGUS, cervicitis, and cervicitis with squamous metaplatia, respectively. Also the results of histopathological examination showed that 32 (26.66%), 19 (15.83%), 17 (14.16%), 11 (9.16%), 1 (0.83%), 22 (18.33%) and 18 (15%) out of scraping cervical cells samples were detected for CINI, CINII, CINIII, SCC

The Relationship Between TLR 2 and 4 with Microbiota of Mouth and Nose in Hypersensitivity Type 1 Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

Hundreds of commensal bacteria are existed in the mouth and nose, and the interactions between these microbiotas and the Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in different parts of the upper respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and immune cells maty assist to maintain the homeostasis of the immune system. Thus, it is important
to study the relationship between type one hypersensitivity and normal flora in the mouth and nose. Blood and saliva or sputum samples of seventy-one allergic patients were collected randomly in Baghdad/ Al- Zahraa center for asthma and allergies. Those patients were suffering from different types of hypersensitivity type1 such as skin and respiratory tract allergy (e.g, asthma and

Determanation of Several Biochemical Parameters in Sera of Iraqi Patients with type 2 Diabetes
...Show More Authors

Diabetes mellitus, or simply diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood sugar, either because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. This high blood sugar produces the classical symptoms of polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (increased thirst), and polyphagia (increased hunger). The aim of the study is to measure several biochemical parameters in T2DM patients and the effect of these parameters in development the disease. Laboratory investigations including Ceruloplasmin , fasting blood glucose (FBG) , malondialdehyde (MDA), serum protein, uric acid, and protein electrophoresis have been measured in patients with type

Synthesis and Characterization of some new heterocyclic derivatives from aromatic carbonyl ‎compounds and carboxylic acids with Evaluation some of them for biological activity
...Show More Authors

In this research investigation, a total of eighteen diverse tetra- and penta-lateral cyclic compounds were synthesized. These included 1,3,4-thiadiazole, thiazolidin-4-one (via an alternative method), 1,2,4-triazole, carbothioamide, thiazole-4-one, azetidin-2-one, and oxazole. The synthesis procedure entailed a sequence of reactions. The thiazolidine-4-one 1 was obtained by reaction p-aminobenzoic acid with thiosemicarbazide, followed by treatment with p-tolualdehyde to produce Schiff base 2. Reaction Schiff base 2 with mercaptoacetic acid in dry benzene was carried out to produce thiazolidine-4-one 3. In another synthesis pathway, the esterification of p-nitro benzoic acid with ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid was

Radon, Radium, and Uranium Concentrations in the Blood of Cigarette-Smoking Women and Lung Cancer Risk
...Show More Authors

Radon and its daughters are of the natural radioactive decay of the uranium series. Exposure to radon gas leads to lung cancer, so the risks are significantly higher for smokers than for non-smokers. Therefore, the risk of radon increases for both active and passive smokers. The radioactivity of alpha particles emitted by radium 226, the main source of radon 222, has become harmful because its prevalence and inhalation increase with increased smoking. In this study, a CR-39 detector was used to measure radon, radium, and uranium concentrations and then calculate risk parameters in seven cigarette-smoking females in vitro study of human blood samples, and three normal females with no actual and passive cigarette smoking. The rado

Employment of the genetic algorithm in some methods of estimating survival function with application
...Show More Authors

Intended for getting good estimates with more accurate results, we must choose the appropriate method of estimation. Most of the equations in classical methods are linear equations and finding analytical solutions to such equations is very difficult. Some estimators are inefficient because of problems in solving these equations. In this paper, we will estimate the survival function of censored data by using one of the most important artificial intelligence algorithms that is called the genetic algorithm to get optimal estimates for parameters Weibull distribution with two parameters. This leads to optimal estimates of the survival function. The genetic algorithm is employed in the method of moment, the least squares method and the weighted
