The effects of incorporating lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) into a polyvinyl alcohol/polyvinyl pyrrolidone/polyethylene glycol (PVA/PVP/PEG) blend polymer electrolyte were investigated. Electrolytes were prepared via solution casting method, with Li2CO3 added at 10, 20, and 30 wt.% to the PVA/PVP/PEG blend (50/30/20 ratio). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis revealed interactions between the added salt and the polymer blend. The addition of both PEG and Li2CO3 resulted in increased ionic conductivity, reaching a maximum of 4.51 x 10- 5 S/cm at 30 degrees C with 20 wt.% Li2CO3. This research aimed to explore the use of foamed concrete (FC), a lightweight concrete, by replacing sand with crushed plastic from washing machines to improve environmental and thermal properties. The primary components included traditional materials like cement, water, and a foaming agent, along with the innovative use of waste plastic (WP). Utilizing Minitab software, the study applied the Response Surface Method to optimize mix designs, reducing the experimental mixtures to 31, which were then tested for dry density, porosity, water absorption, shrinkage, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and thermal conductivity. Background: Neural tube defects (NTDs) are said to be inherited in a multifactorial fashion, i.e. genetic-environmental interaction. Maternal nutritional deficiencies had long been reported to cause NTDs, especially folate deficiency during early pregnancy. More attention had been paid to the exact mechanism by which this deficiency state causes these defects in the developing embryo.
