This study aimed to determine the nickel (Ni), and chromium (Cr) ions amounts and investigate their potential effects on thyroid hormones in patients' saliva who were receiving treatment with fixed orthodontic appliances (FOA). In this study, 42 FOA volunteers participated, and all samples were obtained from a specialized center for manufacturing and orthodontics in Bab Al-Moadham, Baghdad, Iraq. According to the findings, individuals with fixed orthodontics have significantly higher levels of the thyroid hormones (P<0.05) FT3 and FT4 than those who did not have orthodontic treatment, whereas there were no significant changes in TSH (P=0.599). Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory chronic disease with an autoimmune pathogenesis. To determine the role of Helicobacter pylori as a trigger agent, twenty five patients with rheumatoid arthritis of ages (15-47) years have been investigated and compared with twenty healthy individuals. All the studied groups were carried out to measure the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) IgM, anti-CCP antibody IgG and IgA by ELISA test and by measured anti-IgG antibody level of H. pylori by using ELISA and IFAT techniques. The research discussed the possibility of adsorption of Brilliant Blue Dye (BBD) from wastewater using 13X zeolite adsorbent, which is considered a byproduct of the production process of potassium carbonate from Iraqi potash raw materials. The 13X zeolite adsorbent was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction that showed a clear match with the standard 13X zeolite. The crystallinity rate was 82.15% and the crystal zeolite size was 5.29 nm. The surface area and pore volume of the obtained 13X zeolite were estimated. The prepared 13X zeolite showed the ability to remove BBD contaminant from wastewater at concentrations 5 to 50 ppm and the removal reached 96.60% at the lower pollutant concentration.
