This new azo dye 7-(3-hydroxy-phenylazo)-quinoline-8-ol was subsequently used to prepare a series of complexes with the chlorides of Fe, Co, Zn, Ru, Rh and Cd. The compounds identified by 1H and 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, mass spectroscopy, as well as TGA, DSC, and C.H.N., conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, metal and chlorine content. The results showed that the ligand behaves in a trigonal behavior, and that the complexes gave tetrahedral, except for Fe, Ru and Rh octahedral was given, that all of them are non-electrolytes. The effectiveness of both the compounds in inhibiting free radicals was evaluated by the ability to act as an antioxidant was measured using DPPH as a free radical and gallic acid as a standard substance, the IC50 value was determined, because the ligand was found to have a higher ability to inhibit free radicals, and the ability to inhibit the complex varied according to the IC50 value. Cobalt, zinc and ruthenium complexes were evaluated as anticancer agents breast cancer MCF-7 in five concentration, the results showed that the IC50 value for Zn was 43.38 µg/mL, while the ruthenium complex gave 63.57, cobalt complex gave 93.84 µg/mL, meaning that the Zn-complex gave a higher inhibition value than Ru and Co. The present study was designed to synthesize a number of new Ceftriaxone derivatives by its involvement with a series of different amines, through the chemical derivatization of its 2-aminothiazolyl- group into an amide with chloroacetyl chloride, which on further conjugation with these selected amines will produce compounds with pharmacological effects that may extend the antimicrobial activity of the parent compound depending on the nature of these moieties.
Ceftriaxone was first equipped with a spacer arm (linker) by the action of chloroacetyl chloride in aqueous medium and then further reacted with seven different aliphatic and aromatic amines which resulted in the production of the aimed final target products. The syntheses
... Show MoreA series of new 2-quinolone derivatives linked to benzene sulphonyl moieties were performed by many steps: the first step involved preparation of different coumarins (A1,A2) by condensation of different substituted phenols with ethyl acetoacetate. The compound A1 was treated with nitric acid to afford two isomers of nitrocoumarin derivatives (A3) and (A4). The prepared compounds (A2, A3) were treated with hydrazine hydrate to synthesize different 2-quinolone compounds (A5,A6) while the coumarin treated with different amines gave compounds (A7,A8). Then the synthesized 2-quinolone compounds (A5-A8) treated with benzene sulphonyl chloride to afford new sulfonamide derivatives (A9-A12). The synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H

Ethanolic 98% (24 hours/ 25˚c) and distilled water (30 minutes/ 25˚c have been used for extraction. The Total phenols, total flavonoids, total anthocyanin, antioxidant activities were studied.
The extract of Morus rubra was chosen because it has a higher antioxidant activity.
The phenolic extract of Morus rubra was prepare and examined by application it in burger . The antioxidant activity test of Morus rubra was made before and after 3,6 days of cold storage. The sensory evaluation of all treatments were done within 5,1
The azo Schiff base [Reaction of 4-aminoanypyrine and P-hydroxy acetophenone] and O-Phenylene diamine have been prepared. One azo Schiff base chelate of Co(Il), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)ion was also prepared. The chemical frameworks of the azo Schiff base and like elemental analyses (CHN), determinations of molar conductance, 1 H &13C NMR, IR mass and electronic spectroscopy .The elemental analyses exhibited the combination of [L: M] 1:1 ratio. Established on the values IR spectral, it is showed that the azo Schiff base compound acts as neutral hexadentate ligand bonded with the metal ion from two hydroxyl, two azomethine and two azo groups of the azo Schiff base compound in chelation was confirmed by IR , 1Hand 13CNMR spectral outco
... Show MoreBy unusual method for separating two isomers of a substituted nitro-coumarin using a soxhlet extractor and in controlling temperature to get a selective nitration reaction, several new Schiff base coumarins were synthesized from nitro coumarins as starting material, which were reduced by Fe in glacial acetic acid to produce corresponding amino coumarin derivatives. Then the latter was reacted with different aromatic aldehydes to produce the desired Schiff bases derivatives. After characterization by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR) and Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (C-NMR), all these compounds were evaluated as potential Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Agents.
New biscarboxylato zwitterionic ligands, namely bis(N-carboxylatoethyl)-4,4 -dipyridinum) L1 and bis(Ncarboxylatopropyl)-)-4,4 -dipyridinum) L2, were synthesized from the reaction of 4,4 -dipyridine with 3-bromopropanoic acid and 4-bromobutanoic acid, respectively. The reaction of these ligands and the azido coligand with some metal ions resulted in the formation of polymeric complexes of general formulae [Cr2(Ln)(N3)4]Cl2·H2O and [M2(Ln)(N3)4] xH2O, where (M = Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); n = 1, 2; x = 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1, and 1, respectively.) The oxygens of the carboxylato group are coordinated to the metal ion in a bidentate fashion. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determin
... Show MoreThis work contains synthesis and characterization of new compounds [I-VIII], starting from compound [I] which was prepared through the reaction of chloroacetyl chloride with hydrazine hydrate and then cyclized the product with chloroacetic acid using phosphorous oxychloride to give 2,5-bis(chloromethyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole compound [II], then the later compound [II] reacted with 4-hydroxy benzaldehyde to form compound [III]. The compound thiazolidine 2,4-dione [IV] was prepared from the reaction of chloroacetic acid with thiourea. Subsequently compound [III] reacted with compound [IV] to get [V] compound. Then the later compound was reacted with n-alkyl bromide (with several carbon atoms n= 4,5,6,8 ) to give compounds [VI]n. compound
