Bacteriological and histopathological study of Raoultella planticola in local rabbits with respiratory distress
...Show More Authors

Introduction: The bacteriological and histopathological study of Raoultella planticola in local rabbits is not presented in previous research. There is no specific information about studying this bacterium in local rabbits. Hypothesis: The present study was based on Bacteriological and Histopathological changes in the trachea and lung of local rabbits after Samples were collected from 50 unhealthy animals that appear to be suffering from respiratory signs. Aim: To study the bacteria that were isolated for the first time from sheep suffering from respiratory infections, and diagnose them through Vitk2. Methods: We injected them into a group of local rabbits and studied the histopathological changes in the trachea and lungs. due to their similar morphological characteristics. Our investigation reported this bacterium as Gram-negative rods. Then used the Vitk2 system to confirm the species of bacteria (93% Probability). Results: The animals showed grossly results (dullness with nasal and ocular discharge, cough). Then euthanasia was performed to sacrifice animals after seven days post-infection. trachea and lung were used in a histopathological study using routine Hematoxylin and Eosin stained. In this study, emphysema and bronchitis often are grouped under the heading of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Conclusion: Raoultella planticola infections is uncertain, and further studies are required. The previous difficulties in the identification of Raoultella planticola may be explained by the introduction of more detailed identification techniques, may explained in the present study. The conclusion of this study also provides that Raoultella planticola causes mild to moderate emphysema in local rabbits.

Comparative Hepatoprotective Effects of Dapagliflozin to Silymarin Against Cyclophosphamide-Induced Liver Injury in Rats: Biochemical, Antioxidants and Histopathological Studies
...Show More Authors

Introduction. Hepatotoxicity is primarily-caused by oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction; and, it is the principal factor that restricts the clinical efficacy of cyclophosphamide (Cpd), which is a chemotherapeutic drug that is frequently-used. The antioxidant capabilities have been demonstrated by dapagliflozin (Dapa), which is an inhibitor of sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2). Silymarin (Sil) is a chemical that is extracted from milk thistle. Researches have demonstrated that silymarin has hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties.

Morphometric traits or body conformation traits also called linear body measurements are important in predicting marketing body weight especially for commercial breeders and producers. The total number of reared Domyati ducklings are 168 hatched, at marketing age (8 wks.) 44 brown and 14 white Domyati ducks were used to estimate the body weight and body measurements such as shank length (ShL), keel length (KL), body circumference (BC), breast length (BrL), breast width (BrW), beak width (BL), and body length (BL). Our results showed that there is no significant difference between both white and brown Domyati ducks for body measurements. There was high positive correlation among body weight and body measurements on both white and bro
