The extraction of Cupressus sempervirens L. or cypress essential oil was studied in this paper. This cypress oil was extracted by using the hydro-distillation method, using a clevenger apparatus. Cupressus sempervirens L. leaves were collected from Hit city in Al-Anbar province – Iraq. The influences of three important parameters on the process of oil extraction; water which used as a solvent to the solid ratio (5:1 and 14:1 (ml solvent/g plant), temperature (30 to 100 °C) and processing time, were examined to obtain the best processing conditions to achieve the maximum yield of the essential oil. Also, the mathematical model was described to calculate the mass transfer coefficient. Therefore, the best conditions, that were obtained in this study, were at 4hr as a reaction time, the temperature of about 100 °C, solvent to solid ratios of 10:1 ml solvent/g plant. The volumetric mass transfer coefficient at ratios 10:1 and 14:1 solvent to solid ratio were 0.017 and 0.007 min−1 respectively. Thus, it took less time to extract the Cupressus Sempervirens L. oil by using the 10:1 compared to using 14:1 solvent to solid ratio. The composition compounds of extracted C. sempervirens L. essential oil was analyzed and identified by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
Clerodendrum plant is believed to be very useful in many countries for treating various health disorders .“in this study was undertaken to assess antimicrobial activity of ethanol and aqueous extracts of clerodendrum plant”. Display my alcoholic extract higher inhibition of the aqueous extract all of the bacteria (Esherichia Coli , Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis). While the inhibition of the aqueous extract bacteria (Streptococcus, Shigelladysenteria) in higher alcoholic extract. However, the bacteria (Klebseillapneumoniae) did not shown any inhibition zone for both aqueous and alcoholic extracts. From the above results,“ it is concluded the antibacterial properties of Clerodendrum against life threatening pathogens”. So,

Pumpkin seed oil is one of the recognized edible oil and has substantial medicinal properties due to the presence of unique natural edible substances. Inflammation is an adaptive response that is triggered by noxious stimuli and conditions, which involves interactions amongst many cell types and mediators, and underlies many pathological processes. Unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs) can influence inflammation through a variety of mechanisms, and have been indicated as alternative anti-inflammatory agents to treat several inflammatory skin disorders. Pumpkin seed oil is rich in (UFAs), that its t

The two methods were used for calculation, zone method, and an integral method. The work was conducted by using two wire condensers with equal length but different in tube diameters, two refrigerants, R-134a and R-600a, and two different compressors matching the refrigerant type. In the experimental work, the optimum charge was found for the refrigerator according to ASHRAE recommendation. Then, the tests were done at 32˚C ambient temperature in a closed room with dimension (2m*2m*3m). The results showed that th

The national pharmaceutical industry is pivotal for both the health sector and the national economy. This study aims to identify determinants of national drug products acceptance. The objectives of this study were to quantitatively measure the level of patient and community pharmacist acceptance of national drug products available in community pharmacies and to qualitatively explore the barriers facing national pharmaceutical companies and investigate the suggested solutions.

The results show that the sample obtained has good crystallinity, 396m2/g BET surface area, and 0.35 cm3/g pore volume. The hydroisomerization activity of (0.25)Pt (1)Zr (0.5)W/SAPO-11 catalyst was determined using n-decane and base oil. All hydroisomerization experiments of n-decane were achieved at a fixed bed plug flow reactor at a temperature range of 200-275°C and LHSV 0.5-2h-1. The results show that the n-decane conversion increases with increasing temperature and decreasing LHSV, the maximum conversion of 66.7 % was achieved at temperature 275°C and LHSV of 0.5 h-1. The current study conducts a numerical analysis of heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics for air in a rectangular channel filled with high-porosity copper foam. The study examined the thermal performance for two cases of gradient pore density, which are arranged as (10-20-40) PPI and (40-20-10) PPI. These cases were compared with two other cases for constant pore density, 10 and 40 PPI, and empty cases.
