Utilizing Railway Right-of-Ways as Environmental and Recreational Spaces: An Analytical Study in the Municipality of Dora
...Show More Authors

Railway right-of-ways, traditionally reserved for transportation, present significant potential for development as environmental and recreational spaces, particularly in urban areas. In the Municipality of Dora, the active railway line is crucial to the region's transportation network, yet the adjacent lands remain underutilized and could be transformed into spaces that benefit the community. The key challenge lies in balancing the operational integrity of the railway with the local community’s aspirations for green and recreational developments. This study aims to assess the preferences of local residents and key decision-makers regarding the potential development of the railway right-of-way in Dora. The goal is to propose sustainable solutions that align with both the community’s desires for enhanced green spaces and recreational areas and the operational needs of the railway. The broader objective is to create a framework that can be applied to similar urban spaces with active railways, ensuring that the infrastructure can coexist with community-oriented developments. The findings show strong community interest in utilizing the railway right-of-way for recreational and environmental purposes, with particular emphasis on green spaces, walking and cycling paths, and community gardens. However, stakeholders highlighted the importance of addressing safety, budgetary, and environmental challenges in the development process. The proposed solutions provide a balanced approach that integrates community needs with the technical and safety requirements of the railway, offering a blueprint for sustainable urban development in other contexts with active railways. The Pharmacological Effects of Kappa Carrageenan on Different Human Cell Lines and Genomic DNA: An in vitro study
...Show More Authors

Carrageenan extract is a compound of sulfated polyglycan that is taken out from red seaweeds. Being hydrocolloid in nature, carrageenan has gelling, emulsifying and thickening properties allowing it to be commonly used in the oral healthcare products and cosmetics. Due to its bioactive compounds, carrageenan has been shown to have antimicrobial, antiviral, and antitumor properties. The purpose of this work is to study the probable use of carrageenan on the diseases that are related to oral cavity and on the genomic DNA in in vitro experimental model

In this study, the effects of k-carrageenan on four different cell lines related to the cancer and normal cells which cultured on selective media were done. Moreover, the eff

Formulation and characterization of bilastine - cyclodextrin inclusion complex loaded as an oral fast dissolving film
...Show More Authors

Oral fast dissolving films (OFDFs) are the most innovative oral solid pharmaceutical dosage form, especially for elderly and pediatric patients who may have dysphagia. Bilastine (BLA), is a second – generation antihistamine used to manage allergy symptoms; it is very slightly soluble in water. The main objective of this research was to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of BLA by complexation technique. Ternary complex of BLA: methyl β- cyclodextrin (M-β-CD): soluplus® 5% w/w was prepared via solvent evaporation technique as a trial to enhance its solubility to be prepared as OFDF by incorporated into aqueous polymeric solution. Seven formulas of OFDFs were prepared using the solvent casting method using

Design and Implementation of a Telemetry System for Environmental Applications
...Show More Authors

The Environmental Data Acquisition Telemetry System is a versatile, flexible and economical means to accumulate data from multiple sensors at remote locations over an extended period of time; the data is normally transferred to the final destination and saved for further analysis.

This paper introduces the design and implementation of a simplified, economical and practical telemetry system to collect and transfer the environmental parameters (humidity, temperature, pressure etc.) from a remote location (Rural Area) to the processing and displaying unit.

To get a flexible and practical system, three data transfer methods (three systems) were proposed (including the design and implementation) for rural area services, the fi
