Utilizing Railway Right-of-Ways as Environmental and Recreational Spaces: An Analytical Study in the Municipality of Dora
...Show More Authors

Railway right-of-ways, traditionally reserved for transportation, present significant potential for development as environmental and recreational spaces, particularly in urban areas. In the Municipality of Dora, the active railway line is crucial to the region's transportation network, yet the adjacent lands remain underutilized and could be transformed into spaces that benefit the community. The key challenge lies in balancing the operational integrity of the railway with the local community’s aspirations for green and recreational developments. This study aims to assess the preferences of local residents and key decision-makers regarding the potential development of the railway right-of-way in Dora. The goal is to propose sustainable solutions that align with both the community’s desires for enhanced green spaces and recreational areas and the operational needs of the railway. The broader objective is to create a framework that can be applied to similar urban spaces with active railways, ensuring that the infrastructure can coexist with community-oriented developments. The findings show strong community interest in utilizing the railway right-of-way for recreational and environmental purposes, with particular emphasis on green spaces, walking and cycling paths, and community gardens. However, stakeholders highlighted the importance of addressing safety, budgetary, and environmental challenges in the development process. The proposed solutions provide a balanced approach that integrates community needs with the technical and safety requirements of the railway, offering a blueprint for sustainable urban development in other contexts with active railways. Analytical and Theoretical Development of Load-Moment Interaction Diagrams of Rectangular CFRP-RC Columns
...Show More Authors

Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) bars have several advantages over traditional steel reinforcement, including low density, erosion resistance, and higher tensile strength. The ACI 440.11-22 code permits CFRP as reinforcement; however, there are limited experimental studies on its application in Reinforced Concrete (RC) columns under combined loads. This study utilized theoretical analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to investigate 25 square slender concrete columns (kL/r = 17) affected by concentric and eccentric loads, examining variables, like CFRP bar contribution, eccentricity-to-depth ratio, and reinforcement arrangement. The results demonstrated CFRP's effectiveness in these columns, with failure modes varying from

Utilizing Energy-Efficient Deep Learning Technique for Age Estimation Through a Hybrid Methodology
...Show More Authors

This study employs evolutionary optimization and Artificial Intelligence algorithms to determine an individual’s age using a single-faced image as the basis for the identification process. Additionally, we used the WIKI dataset, widely considered the most comprehensive collection of facial images to date, including descriptions of age and gender attributes. However, estimating age from facial images is a recent topic of study, even though much research has been undertaken on establishing chronological age from facial photographs. Retrained artificial neural networks are used for classification after applying reprocessing and optimization techniques to achieve this goal. It is possible that the difficulty of determining age could be reduce

Cloud Computing Adoption by Higher Education Institutions of Iraq: An Empirical Study
...Show More Authors

In the last years, a new technology called Cloud computing has been developed. Empirical and previous studies, commonly examined in business field and other domains. In this study, the significant factors that affecting the adoption of cloud computing have been examined using a frequency analysis that have been explored by the previous studies. The results showed that the most effected factors were relative advantage which followed by security and privacy, complexity, innovativeness, and external support. In this study the model of technology organization-environment was used to examine the significant factors that affecting the adoption of cloud computing.

Evaluation of fracture strength of endodontically treated teeth restored by milled zirconia post and core with different post and core systems (An in vitro comparative study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Restoration of root canal treated teeth with a permanent restoration affect in the success of endodontically treated teeth. This in vitro study was performed to evaluate and compare the fracture strength of endodontically treated teeth restored by using custom made zirconium posts and cores, prefabricated carbon fiber, glass fiber and zirconium ceramic posts. Materials and method: Forty intact human mandibular second premolars were collected for this study and were divided into five groups. Each group contains 8 specimens: Group1: Teeth restored with Carbon Fiber Posts; Group2: Teeth restored with Glass Fiber Posts; Group3: Teeth restored with Zirconium Ceramic prefabricated Posts; Group4: Teeth restored with Zirconium Posts
