Iatrogenic atrial septal defect post radiofrequency ablation in patients with left atrial SVT: Predictors and outcomes
...Show More Authors

atrogenic atrial septal defect (IASD), post Catheter ablation during electrophysiological study simply can be assess with Echocardiography nowadays ablation consider the main line in the managements of patients with various type of arrhythmia. This study aims to de-termine the outcomes of Iatrogenic Atrial Septal Defect (IASD) six months post radiofrequency ablation (RF) procedure of left atrial arrhythmia using non-invasive Transtho-racic Echocardiography (TTE) parameters (LVEF, E/e` and ASD size) with sheath size as predictors of atrial septal defect closure. Patients and methods: A prospective study was con-ducted in Iraqi Centre for Heart Diseases included 47 patients post Electrophysiology procedure and ablation of left atrial SVT were selected after non complicated tran-septal puncture using two size of sheath in three type of arrythmia and follow up done simply with Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) was used to evaluate the atrial septal defect (ASD) (from May 2019-May 2020) in Iraqi centre for heart diseases. Results: After Electrophysiology study, results of this study were analysed and collected according to duration of procedure, sheath size and number that used in sep-tostomy, size of IASD and Echocardiographic parameters. The mean age of the patients (36.28±10.34 years), males were 23 (48.9%) while females were 24 (51.1%), without structural heart diseases and good LV function with mean EF (64.68± 5.23%). Iatrogenic atrial septal defects (IAS-Ds)were detected by TTE in all patients with range from (2-5) mm with mean of (3.47±0.92), performed by Trans-septal puncture (TSP), either with single 8 French sheath in 24 (51.06%) patients or single 12 French sheath in 17 (36.17%) patients while 6 (12.77%) patients the defect was performed by double transseptal sheath. spontane-ous closure occur in 35(74%) patients within first three months with clear significant association between size of ASD that related to the sheath size and duration of procedure (P<0.0001). We notice that some Echocardiographic parameters were also associated with IASD without any clinical complications and/ or deterioration. Conclusions: post catheter ablation number and size of sheath and duration of ablation consider as a predictor to closure of residual atrial septal defect post atrial sep-tostomy and can simply assess with non-invasive Trans-thoracic Echocardiography parameters such (Atrial septal defect size and body surface area) during initial six months follow up. © 2021, Venezuelan Society of Pharmacology and Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology. Study of the Effect of Diabetes Mellitus I on Bone Mineral Density of Upper and Lower Limbs by Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry
...Show More Authors

Background: Bone mineral density (BMD) has been assessed using Dual-Energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). This procedure is considered to be of vital importance in assessing the general condition of individuals concerning their skeletal mineralization. BMD is measured according to the results of the DEXA examination of the vertebral column and pelvis. Although diabetes mellitus (D.M.)is known to affect BMD, the information regarding this relationship is not currently particularly clear. Objective: This study concentrates on the point that the assessment of BMD for the vertebral column is insuffi-cient to give a realistic and correct picture of the mineralization of the remaining part of the skeleton. Besides, this study elicited a gen

The Significance of the Folk Symbols and Their Influence on The National Identity (Chosen samples from the Contemporary Iraqi Pottery): زينب كاظم صالح

The contemporary art culture is considered a resultant of preceding human civilizations from the early days. At the same time, it got closer to the local privacy, because the contemporary Iraqi potter worked hard to create new art, refusing to base his art on the early works, creating art pieces that contains properties to inherited art and their form significance, in order to create a new identity of his own, bringing an empowerment to his deepened civilization, with the goal to create national identity ideas from one hand, and entity and locality from another. Europeans also followed the direction of our civilization, such as (Picasso, Henry Moore, Barbra Hurth, Brankouzi, Hans Arp,..etc). From this point of view comes the importance o

This experiment was conducted in the orchard of the Department of Horticulture, college of Agriculture,Baghdad University during the growing season of 2007 To study the effects of spray with three concentration of cultar(0,500,1000 mg.L-1) ,tow concentration of K2SO4(0,5g.L-1), and salinity of irrigation water with three concentration (1,2,3dS.m-1) on some characteristics of vegetative growth of two cultivars of apricot trees (Labib1 and Zienni). The age of trees was four years .The tree grafted on original of seed apricot . Afactorial trail was carry out according to randomized complete block design with arrangement of split-split with three replications. Estimation of secondary compounds content of some citrus leaves and their relationship by dietary preference for yellow scale insect Aonidiella. Orientalis (Hemiptera: Diaspididae)
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The yellow scale insect Aonidiella orientalis is an important pest of citrus trees as it absorbs sap from leaves and fruits, causing leaves to turn yellow and deform fruits and drop them. The results of study showed nutritional preference of the insect over some of studied citrus species, as sour orange was the most preferred, followed by lemon and grapefruit, mandarin and oranges were least preferred, with a rate of 22.3, 13.3, 11.7, 10.8, 3.9, and insect / 2 inch2, respectively. while results showed a difference in the content of citrus leaves from the secondary compounds, with highest concentration of phenols and total flavonoids in o</p> ... Evaluating the effects of reservoir level and foundation depth on the dynamic behaviour of a rockfill dam using three-dimensional finite elements modelling
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>This paper presents a three-dimensional Dynamic analysis of a rockfill dam with different foundation depths by considering the dam connection with both the reservoir bed and water. ANSYS was used to develop the three-dimensional Finite Element (FE) model of the rockfill dam. The essential objective of this study is the discussion of the effects of different foundation depths on the Dynamic behaviour of an embanked dam. Four foundation depths were investigated. They are the dam without foundation (fixed base), and three different depths of the foundation. Taking into consideration the changing of upstream water level, the empty, minimum, and maximum water levels, the results of the three-dimensional F</p> ... Show More

Adsorption of some Metal Ions from Aqueous Solution on Iraqi Rice Bran and Its Relation to the Physical Properties of these Metal Ions
...Show More Authors

Adsorption studies were carried out to test the ability of the Iraqi rice bran (Amber type) to adsorb some metals divalent cations (Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Fe2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, and Zn2+) as an alternative tool to remove these pollutants from water. The Concentrations of these ions in water were measured using flame and flamless atomic absorption spectrophotometry techniques. The applicability of the adsorption isotherm on Langmuir or Freundlisch equation were tested and found to be dependent on the type of ions. The results showed different adsorptive behavior and different capacities of the adsorption of the ions on the surface of the bran. The correlation between the amounts adsorbed and different cation parameters including (electronegativity, io
