Comprehensive study of Cu2⁺-ion conducting PVA/PVP/glycerin-based gel polymer electrolytes: structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the impact of copper sulfate (CuSO4) doping and glycerin plasticization on the structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and glycerin gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). The GPEs were prepared using a solution casting method with varying CuSO4 concentrations (5 and 10 wt.%). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the semi-crystalline nature of the polymer blend and also confirmed the presence of CuSO4. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the miscibility of PVA, PVP, and glycerin through interchain hydrogen bonding and indicated the successful incorporation of Cu2+ ions into the polymer blend matrix. The PVA/PVP/glycerin blend containing 10 wt.% CuSO4 exhibited the highest ionic conductivity of 3.76x10-4 S/cm at 30 degrees C. Optical bandgap analysis revealed that increasing the CuSO4 content reduced the bandgap, suggesting improved compatibility and stronger chemical interactions within the polymer blend. The addition of glycerin and CuSO4 to the PVA/PVP blend resulted in enhanced thermal stability compared to the pure PVA/PVP blend, as evidenced by differential thermal analysis measurements. These findings highlight the potential of CuSO4-doped PVA/PVP/glycerin gel polymer electrolytes for rechargeable batteries.

Effect of phosphoric acid plasticization on PVA/graphene oxide films: a comprehensive study of structural, thermal, optical, and electrical properties
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the influence of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) molarity (2 M, 4 M, and 6 M) on the structural, thermal, optical, and electrical properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/20% graphene oxide (GO) composite films. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed a semi-crystalline nature for PVA, with characteristic peaks at 19.7 degrees and 42 degrees, and crystalline peaks for GO at 10.1 degrees and 39.8 degrees. The addition of H3PO4 to the PVA/GO composite resulted in the disappearance of GO crystalline peaks, suggesting reduced crystallinity. Differential scanning calorimetry revealed a reduction in both glass transition and melting temperatures as H3PO4 concentration increased. Pure PVA exhibited Tg and Tm values of 68.9 degrees C and 1

The optical properties of (PVA+PVP) + PANI blends
...Show More Authors

Polyaniline polymer has been prepared by chemical oxidation
polymerization method in laboratory successfully. The PANI and
(PVA+PVP) as a polymer blends in different percentage (30%, 50%,
70%) from Polyaniline was prepared. The sample was studies as
optical properties by UV-vis spectrophotometer at (400-700) nm.
The result of optical energy gap was 2.23 eV for pure (PVA+ PVP)
and with additive was increasing with increasing PANI concentration
to become (2.49 for 30% to 2.52 for 70%) PANI. The goal of this
project is prepare triple blend polymer and study the effect when add
conductive polymer (Polyaniline) on the optical properties and
calculate optical constant as energy gap, refractive index, dielectric

Influence of Lithium Salts on Optical Properties, FTIR Analysis, and AC Conductivity of PVP/PVA Blends for Solid Polymer Electrolyte Applications
...Show More Authors

Blends of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) in equal weight ratios (50 wt.% PVP + 50 wt.% PVA) were doped with 15% of various lithium salts (Li2CO3, LiNO3, Li2SO4H2O, and LiCl) and prepared using the solution-casting method, with dimethylformamide (DMF) as the solvent. The impact of these salts on the blends was analyzed and the results showed that the energy gap was decreased by adding lithium salts Li2CO3, LiNO3 and Li2SO4.H₂O. The minimum energy gap value was 3.5 eV obtained from PVP/PVA:15% Li2CO3. The optical constants were determined in the range of 300-1100 nm. The results showed that all the optical constants for doped blends were grown with the addition of lithium salts. The FTIR study confirms the c

Enhancement of ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability of PVA/HPMC/PANI/CuSO4 gel polymer for rechargeable batteries electrolytes
...Show More Authors

Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) have drawn a lot of interest due to their special qualities, which include high conductivity that is comparable to liquid electrolytes, excellent mechanical stability, and high flexibility. Using the solution casting approach, we have synthesized copper ion conducting gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) films made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the polymer host. An ionic salt, copper sulphate (CuSO 4 ), and a plasticizing solvent, PANI/ [BMIM] [BF 4 ] polyionic liquid, were employed. The structural, electrical, and electrochemical properties of the GPE films were carefully examined. The significant XRD crystalline peak decreased and disappeared upon the addition of PANI/[BMIM] [BF 4 ] polyionic liquid, suggesting th

Structural and optical properties for PVA- PEG-MnCl2 composites

Polymer films of PEG and PVA and their blend with different
concentrations of MnCl2 (0, 2, 4, 6 and 10 %.wt) were study using
casting technique. The X-ray spectra of pure PEG, PVA and
PVA:PEG films and with addition of 2% concentrations from
(MnCl2) show amorphous structures. The results for FTIR show the
interaction between the filler and polymer blend results in
decreasing crystallinity with rich amorphous phase. This
amorphous nature confirms the complexation between the filler and
the polymer blend. The optical properties of (PVA:PEG/MnCl2)
contain the recording of absorbance (A) and explain that the
absorption coefficient (α), refractive index (n), extinction coefficient

In this work, (ZnO)1-x(MnO2)x compounds were synthesized with composition (x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5) of manganese oxide content using solid state reaction. Thin films were prepared from these compounds on glass substrates at room temperature using pulsed laser deposition method. The structure of the prepared compounds and thin films were analyzed using x-ray diffraction while the optical properties was measured using UV-visible spectrophotometry. It was found that the synthesized composites declared many peaks in the diffraction pattern which indicate polycrystalline structure with hexagonal wurtzite hexagonal structure of ZnO, and MnO2 and Mn2O3 secondary phases. A narrowing in the optical energy gap was found as Mn content increas
