Adaptation Proposed Methods for Handling Imbalanced Datasets based on Over-Sampling Technique

Classification of imbalanced data is an important issue. Many algorithms have been developed for classification, such as Back Propagation (BP) neural networks, decision tree, Bayesian networks etc., and have been used repeatedly in many fields. These algorithms speak of the problem of imbalanced data, where there are situations that belong to more classes than others. Imbalanced data result in poor performance and bias to a class without other classes. In this paper, we proposed three techniques based on the Over-Sampling (O.S.) technique for processing imbalanced dataset and redistributing it and converting it into balanced dataset. These techniques are (Improved Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (Improved SMOTE),  Borderline-SMOTE + Imbalanced Ratio(IR), Adaptive Synthetic Sampling (ADASYN) +IR) Algorithm, where the work these techniques are generate the synthetic samples for the minority class to achieve balance between minority and majority classes and then calculate the IR between classes of minority and majority. Experimental results show ImprovedSMOTE algorithm outperform the Borderline-SMOTE + IR and ADASYN + IR algorithms because it achieves a high balance between minority and majority classes.

UAV Control Based on Dual LQR and Fuzzy-PID Controller

Photonic Crystal Fiber Pollution Sensor based on Surface Plasmon Resonance

       In this work, a pollution-sensitive Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) based on Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) technology is designed and implemented for sensing refractive indices and concentrations of polluted  water . The overall construction of the sensor is achieved by splicing short lengths of PCF (ESM-12) solid core on one side with traditional multimode fiber (MMF) and depositing a gold nanofilm of 50nm thickness on the end of the PCF sensor. A Comparative Study of Colorectal Cancer Based on Patient’s Age

Abstract:

Background: The alteration of bowel habits, bleeding per-rectum and anemia were common features in both groups in this study, but in young patients there was a delay of 6 months between the presenting symptoms and the definitive diagnosis because the disease was not suspected and investigated in them. The most common site for the tumors in young patients was the rectum and in patients above the age of 40 years was the Sigmoid.

The pathological finding showed that classification of the colorectal tumors in young patients appear moderately to poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma , this indicate a more malignant course of the disease in young patients.

Chemical Sensor Based on a Hollow-Core Photonic Crystal Fiber

In this work a chemical sensor was built by using Plane Wave Expansion (PWE) modeling technique by filling the core of 1550 hollow core photonic crystal fiber with chloroform that has different concentrations after being diluted with distilled water. The minimum photonic bandgap width is.0003 and .0005 rad/sec with 19 and 7 cells respectively and a concentration of chloroform that filled these two fibers is 75%.
