In this study, silica-graphene oxide nano–composites were prepared by sol-gel technique and deposited by spray pyrolysis method on glass substrate. The effect of changing the graphene/silica ratio on the optical properties and wetting of these nano–structures has been investigated. The structural and morphological properties of the thin films have been studied by x-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and atomic force microscope (AFM). XRD results show that silica structures present in the synthesized films exhibit amorphous character and there is a poor arrangement in graphene plates along their accumulation directions. The relationship between the contact angle of the water drop and the surface of thin films was analyzed by surface roughness. The results show that the contact angle is also decreased by decreasing the surface roughness. Absorption and transmittance spectra obtained from (UV–vis) of the studied films were used to compute and determine some optical parameters such as absorption coefficient, transmittance rate, optical gap, refractive index and extinction coefficient of the films. The calculated optical band gaps of films decrease by increase the silica contents in these structures.

Al-Rabee factory is one of the largest ice cream factories in Iraq and it is considered one of the most productive and diversified factories with products where its products cover most areas of the capital Baghdad, however, it lacks a distribution system based on scientific and mathematical methods to work in the transportation and distribution processes, moreover, these processes need a set of important data that cannot in any way be separated from the reality of fuzziness industrial environment in Iraq, which led to use the fuzzy sets theory to reduce the levels of uncertainty.

Show MoreBackground: Red onion (Allium cepa L.) peels represent an abundant agricultural byproduct rich in bioactive flavonoids, yet their therapeutic potential against aggressive breast cancer models remains poorly characterized. This study aimed to extract and purify anthocyanins from red onion peels, characterize their active constituents, and evaluate their selective in vitro cytotoxicity against the triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell line CAL-51 relative to non-tumorigenic Normal Human Fibroblast (NHF) cells. Methods: Anthocyanins were extracted with acidified aqueous ethanol, purified using silica gel G60 column chromatography and characterized by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The cobalt oxide phase was analysed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and proved the preparation of two cobalt oxide phases which are Co3O4 and CoO phases. The surface morphology was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images showing the topography of the sample with grain size smaller than 100 nm. The optical behavior of the prepared material was studied by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The band gap varied as 1.9 eV and 2.6 eV for Co3O4 prepared from cobalt sulphate precursor, 2.03 eV and 4.04 eV for Co3O4 prepared from cobalt nitrate precursor, 2.04 eV and 4.01 eV for CoO prepared from cobalt chloride precursor where th

In this work, a solution of 200 mg/l of Congo red was used to examine the removal of anionic dye using an EC-EO system with three stainless steel electrodes as the auxiliary electrodes and an aluminum electrode as anode for the EC process, Cu-Mn-Ni Nanocomposite as anode for the EO process. This composite oxide was simultaneously synthesized by anodic and cathodic deposition of Cu (NO3)2, MnCl2, and Ni (NO3)2 salts with 0.075 M as concentrations of each salt with a fixed molar ratio (1:1:1) at a constant current density of 25 mA/cm2.
