Nanofluid-assisted enhanced sealing security for efficient geological hydrogen storage in Saudi Arabian basalt
...Show More Authors

The modification of hydrophobic rock surfaces to the water-wet state via nanofluid treatment has shown promise in enhancing their geological storage capabilities and the efficiency of carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) containment. Despite this, the specific influence of silica (SiO2) nanoparticles on the interactions between H2, brine, and rock within basaltic formations remains underexplored. The present study focuses on the effect of SiO2 nanoparticles on the wettability of Saudi Arabian basalt (SAB) under downhole conditions (323 K and pressures ranging from 1 to 20 MPa) by using the tilted plate technique to measure the contact angles between H2/brine and the rock surfaces. The findings reveal that the SAB's hydrophobicity intensifies in the presence of organic acids, with significant increases in both advancing (θa) and receding (θr) contact angles upon exposure to organic acid at 323 K and 20 MPa. Contrastingly, the application of SiO2 nanoparticles under these conditions results in a marked shift towards hydrophilicity, with θa and θr decreasing substantially, thus indicating an optimal nanoparticle concentration (0.1 wt% SiO2) for effecting the transition from H2-wet to water-wet states. This change in wettability aligns with the known pressure-dependent behavior of contact angles. Moreover, the treatment of organically-aged basalt with 0.1 wt% SiO2 nanofluids at 20 MPa and 323 K enhances the H2 column height significantly, from −424 m to 4340 m, suggesting a reduced risk of H2 migration across the caprock and thereby enhancing both the structural/residual trapping and containment security of H2 within the basaltic formations of Saudi Arabia. This article highlights the crucial role of SiO2 nanofluids in improving the efficacy of H2 storage in basalt, offering a new insight towards the optimization of geological storage solutions for hydrogen, a critical component in the transition to a sustainable energy future.

The value of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI and diffusion-weighted sequence in the evaluation of endometrial lesions
...Show More Authors

Background/Aim: Endometrial abnormalities represent a diagnostic challenge due to overlapping imaging features with normal endometrium. Aim of this study was to assess accuracy of dynamic contrast-enhanced and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in evaluation of endometrial lesions in comparison with T2 and to assess local staging validity and degree of myometrial invasion in malignancy. Methods: Forty patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding or sonographic thickened endometrial were recruited. MRI examination of pelvis was per-formed using 1.5 T scanner with a pelvic array coil. Conventional T1-and T2, dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) sequences and diffusion-weighted image (DWI) were performed. Results: Mean age of pa

Biofuel Production and Its Impact on Global Food Security: A Review Article
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study is to shed light on the importance of biofuels as an alternative to conventional energy, in addition to the importance of preserving agricultural crops, which are the main source of this fuel, to maintain food security, especially in developing countries. The increase in global oil prices, in addition to the fear of global warming, are among the main factors that draw the world’s attention to searching for alternative sources of traditional energy, which are sustainable on the one hand, and on the other hand reduce carbon emissions. Therefore, the volume of global investment in renewable energy in general, and in liquid biofuels and biomass in particular, has increased. Global fears emerged that the excessive convers

The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and its Impact on Iraqi National Security
...Show More Authors

The Turkish Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) is one of the most influential elements in the Iraqi national security since 2014. It has a new and effective role in the Iraqi political arena, as a result of participating in combat operations against ISIS in Nineveh Governorate, which prompted several minorities within the province to sympathize with its presence and its role in particular in Sinjar  after ISIS committed the most brutal crimes against the Aizidi minority, Turkey took advantage of the security conditions that Iraq went through after the entry of ISIS into the country to expand its influence in the north, using the pretext of the PKK and the previous agreement between the two countries on border protection. Also, the continued

SOLAR WATER HEATER WITH SHELL AND HELICAL COILED TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER AS A STORAGE TANK
...Show More Authors

In this work an experimental study is performed to evaluate the thermal performance
of locally made closed loop solar hot water system using a shell and helical coiled tube
heat exchanger as a storage tank. Several measurements are taken include inlet and outlet
temperatures of both collectors and supply water and temperature distribution within the
storage tank. This is beside the water flow rate in both collectors and load cycle. The
main parameters of the system are obtained.

Abstract:

The study focused on the application of smart tourism as one of the applications of electronic commerce in the form of (B2C) to attract tourists to Saudi Arabia, where the tourism sector is one of the important sectors on which the Kingdom depends on the diversity of its economy.

The purpose of the research: With the issuance of tourist visas for the first time the study noted a deterioration in the case of Saudi tourist sites over the Internet, which do not live up to this great interest by the Saudi government for this sector, which became vital to them. The study tried to identify the reality of the Saudi tourist sites through the Internet in order to identify the sui

Enhanced thermal and electrical properties of epoxy/carbon fiber–silicon carbide composites
...Show More Authors

The silicon carbide/carbon fiber (SiC/CF) hybrid fillers were introduced to improve the electrical and thermal conductivities of the epoxy resin composites. Results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed that the peaks at 3532 and 2850 cm−1 relate to carboxylic acid O–H stretching and aldehyde C–H stretching appearing deeper with an increased volume fraction of SiC. Scanning electron microscopic image shows a better interface bonding between the fiber and the matrix when the volume fraction of SiC particles are increased. As frequency increases from 102 Hz to 106 Hz, dielectric constants decrease slightly. Dissipation factor (tan δ) values keep low a

Evaluating the Biocompatibility of Maxillofacial Silicone Enhanced by Hexagonal Boron Nitride Particles
...Show More Authors

This study aims to evaluate the biocompatibility of a novel filler material intended to improve the longevity of polymer systems used in prosthetics in respect of cytotoxicity and skin irritation. RTV50F silicone elastomer incorporated with various percentages of hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) (0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 1 wt%) have been tested. Silicone without H-BN was utilized as the control for comparison. The in vitro cytotoxicity test includes specimens (n=18) with 10 mm in diameter and 2 mm in thickness applied directly to the normal human fibroblast cell line (NHF) and incubated for 72 hours, then 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to determine the cell viability. The skin irritati

Sentiment Analysis on Roman Urdu Students’ Feedback Using Enhanced Word Embedding Technique
...Show More Authors

Students’ feedback is crucial for educational institutions to assess the performance of their teachers, most opinions are expressed in their native language, especially for people in south Asian regions. In Pakistan, people use Roman Urdu to express their reviews, and this applied in the education domain where students used Roman Urdu to express their feedback. It is very time-consuming and labor-intensive process to handle qualitative opinions manually. Additionally, it can be difficult to determine sentence semantics in a text that is written in a colloquial style like Roman Urdu. This study proposes an enhanced word embedding technique and investigates the neural word Embedding (Word2Vec and Glove) to determine which perfo
