I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 from the College of Education at the University of Baghdad, laying a strong foundation for my academic career. In 1996, I completed my Master’s degree at the same institution, where my thesis explored Iraqi students' proficiency in recovering elliptical elements and substituting pro-forms. I further advanced my expertise by obtaining a PhD from the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad in 2006, with a dissertation dedicated to the Principle of Relevance in English children's short stories. My primary research interests lie in pragmatics and stylistics, areas that are crucial for understanding language use. In 2023, I was honored with a promotion to the rank of Professor, reflecting my dedication to the field. Since 2008, I have passionately taught courses in pragmatics, semantics, and a variety of other subjects at the Master’s level, inspiring the next generation of scholars.
