We described herein the synthesis of novel bis-1,3,4-oxadiazole containing glycine moiety. N-{5-[5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl-sulfanyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl-methyl}-4methoxybenzamide was fully characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Also this study was designed to show the effects of bis-oxadiazole compound on the activities of some transferase enzymes such as: GOT, GPT and γ-GT in sera. This compound demonstrated activation on GOT and GPT activities, inhibitory effects on the γ-GT activity. These effects increased with the increasing of the concentration of the compound. The causes of the increases and decreases in the enzymes activities are discussed
Verapamil Hydrochloride (VH) has been determined spectrophotometrically by using Methyl Orange (MO). In our previous researches MO was used for determination of Mexiletine Hydrochloride [1]. The method was based on complexation between (MO and VH). After shaking and diluting the complex solution with D.W, the pH was adjusted with NaOH and HCl to pH 4. The colored complex formed between VH and the reagents were transferred into separating funnels and extracted using 4.5 ml CH2Cl2 and were shaken for (4 minutes). The extracted organic layer was used for the preparation of the calibration curves for spectrophotometric measurements of VH at 437nm. The blanks were carried out in exactly the same way throughout the whol

E. coli was isolated, and it was Gram-negative rod bacteria that was colony circular, regular edged, thick somewhat glitter and viscous(less). It was lactose fermenter bacteria and belongs the family of Enterobacteriaceae. E. coli showed sensitivity to all used antibiotics except Erythromycin (E), Cloxacellin (CX), Rifampin (RA), Cephalothin (KF), Ampicillin (AM), and Penicillin (P). The experimental results of antibiotic sensitivity of E. coli in media containing different concentrations of omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, showed an enhancement of resistance by decreasing the sensitivity of E. coli inversely with drug concentration against the antibiotics that E. coli was sensitive to. It seems that omeprazole changed cell mem

Show MoreA Bayesian formulation of the ridge regression problem is considerd, which derives from a direct specification of prior informations about parameters of general linear regression model when data suffer from a high degree of multicollinearity.A new approach for deriving the conventional estimator for the ridge parameter proposed by Hoerl and Kennard (1970) as well as Bayesian estimator are presented. A numerical example is studied in order to compare the performance of these estimators.

Recent progress in the understanding of psoriasis has shown that the regulation of local and systemic cytokines plays an important role in its pathogenesis. Different studies evaluated the association of serum levels of some proinflammatory cytokines invivo and their correlation with severity of psoriasis. Eighty cases of psoriatic patients had been studied. Patients were divided into mild psoriasis group (30) and severe psoriasis group (50) according to severity, and (30) apparently healthy individuals ware used as acontrol group. Sera samples of all groups were collected from all individuals for the estimation levels of interleukins (IL-6 and IL-8). All mean values sera levels (IL-6 32.004 pg/ml and 17.579 pg/ml for

The cross section evaluation for (α,n) reaction was calculated according to the available International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and other experimental published data . These cross section are the most recent data , while the well known international libraries like ENDF , JENDL , JEFF , etc. We considered an energy range from threshold to 25 MeV in interval (1 MeV). The average weighted cross sections for all available experimental and theoretical(JENDL) data and for all the considered isotopes was calculated . The cross section of the element is then calculated according to the cross sections of the isotopes of that element taking into account their abundance . Show MoreThe power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3), lead-telluride (PbTe), and gallium arsenide (GaAs) at room temperature (300K) quantum wires and quantum wells are theoretically investigated. Our formalism rigorously takes into account modification of these power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in free-surface wires and wells due to spatial confinement. From our numerical results, we predict a significant increase of the power factor in quantum wires with diameter w=20 Ã…. The increase is always stronger in quantum wires than in quantum wells of the corresponding dimensions. An unconfined phonon distribution assumed based on the bulk lattice thermal conductivity is then employed

A new approach presented in this study to determine the optimal edge detection threshold value. This approach is base on extracting small homogenous blocks from unequal mean targets. Then, from these blocks we generate small image with known edges (edges represent the lines between the contacted blocks). So, these simulated edges can be assumed as true edges .The true simulated edges, compared with the detected edges in the small generated image is done by using different thresholding values. The comparison based on computing mean square errors between the simulated edge image and the produced edge image from edge detector methods. The mean square error computed for the total edge image (Er), for edge regio

The circular blocks have symmetrical properties in all directions for the mask points around the central mask point. Therefore, the introduced method is efficient to be use in detecting image edges, in all directions curved edges, and lines. The results exhibit a very good performance in detecting image edges, comparing with other edge detectors results.

In this research, we make an attempt to derive theoretically 1-D linear dispersion relation of ion-acoustic waves in uniform unmagnetized dusty plasma valid in the long wavelength limits. This equation matched previously special equation of acoustic modes of a general form in magnetized dusty plasma. Depending on previously mentioned experimental data, we numerically consider various parameters that affect the properties of these waves in dusty plasma. The study has shown that the presence of dust grains is to modify the properties of ion acoustic waves and affect the behavior of the plasma in which they are immersed.
