Pathogenic effect of bunt wheat on male reproductive system in Mices.

This study was carried out to study the toxic effect of smut wheat on male reproductive system of mice. The experimental study was performed in the laboratory using 20 mice, which divided into two groups, one group feed on normal diet, the other fed on a mixture of 50% normal diet with 50% smut wheat. A histopathological study was done on the testes of Mice fed on smut wheat for 30 days. The histopathological study revealed thickness of basement membrane of semiriferous tubule of mice, and desquamation of the sertoli cells and spermatogonium from the basement membrane of seminiferous tubule and has adversely effect on male fertility.

In order to demonstrated the pathologic changes and immune response of Brucella aboruls strain 19. Vaccinated guinea pigs were experimentally infected With Nocardia asteroides, 24 guinea pigs of both six were divided into four equal groups. The first group was inoculated sub-cutaneously with Brucella abortus strain 19 vaccine. The second group was inoculated inuapulmonary with 1 X 103 C.F.U of viable Nocardia asteroides. Thirty days post-inoculation the first, second and third groups were challenged intrapulmonary with 2.5 K 109 C.F.U. of Nocardia asteroides, the last group served as control. The results showed that mortality was 100 % in non~ vaccinated -animals, 33.4 % in immunized animals with Nocardia asteroides and zero in Brucella

Twenty Vervets monkeys were used to study the effect of sexes and ages on morphohistological and hematological pictures. The study revealed that age and sex affect blood values. Vervet monkeys registered a significant dominancy of hematological parameters in adult males. Erythrocytes of vervet monkeys were of macrocytic type, howell-Jolly bodies were observed. Rouleaux formation, Anisocytosis, Aggregation, and Agglutination were not observed. A significant predominancy of neutrophils in females and lymphocytes in males was recorded. Prevalence of Gastrointestinal Helminthes and Protozoa Among Stray Dogs in Baghdad

The aim of this study is to identify the gastrointestinal parasites and Protozoa in stray dogs.  The current study includes seven genera of intestinal helminths and protozoa as follows: one cestode (Taenia sp. 29.1%), four nematodes (Hookworm 86.6%, Toxocara canis 67.5%, Trichuris vulpis 51.6% and Strongyloides sp. 5%) and two protozoa (Giardia sp. 24.1% and Cryptosporidium sp. 20.8%) from 120 fecal samples of dogs were collected from different regions of Baghdad during the period from February to July 2014. The results revealed that the intestinal parasites appeared in all months of the study; however, the high infection rate was during the winter months.

Study the Pathological Effects of the Combination of Estrogen and Progesterone Hormones on Some Organs Experimentally Induced in Mice

The aim of this study was design to investigate the pathological changes for one month after therapeutic and toxic doses of subcutaneous injection of estrogen and progesterone combination hormones in mice, on the target organs testis and epidydimus in males and uterus and ovary in females. As well as the effects on non-target organ of Brain, liver spleen, intestine, stomach, kidney and lung in both sexes. The results showed sever pathological changes in male's testis and epidydimus and in females, uterus and the ovary. It is characterized by some pathological changes in toxic group less severity than in the therapeutic group.

Neurotoxic effect in lactating mice pups received oseltamivir phosphate (tamiflu) through milk from dosed nursing mothers during lactation period

The present study was aimed to evaluate neurotoxic effects of oseltamivir phosphate in lactating pups of orally dosed mice mothers during lactation. Twelve recently parturited female albino mice were divided equally into three groups, one control and two treated groups, each group consists of 4 dosed dams and 8 chosen pups .The nursing dams of T1 and T2 dosed daily orally with 1mg/kg and 5mg/kg,oseltamivir phosphate respectively representing the therapeutic dose and 5 fold dose of drug while control group dosed with distilled water. This study was conducted on local breed goats to determine the changes in biochemical parameters in anemic cases by using morphological classification, one hundred and seventyserum samples were collected randomly from goats of both sexes aged 3 months – 6 years, they were grazing on pasture from the different districts of Baghdad, Bakuba and Falluja. The total protein, albumin and fibrinogen in the normal bucks were 73 1 – 84 1 g/L, 35 3- 37 1 g/ L, 9 8- 11 1 g/ L, respectively and in the normal does were 66 1 – 77 4 g/ L, 35 6 – 37 2 g/ L and 6 – 15 g/ L, respectively, the average of these parameters differed significantly at (p> 0.05) between the normal and the anemic animals.
