Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting cloven-hoofed animals, causing significant economic losses in livestock industries. The causative agent, Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV), consists of seven serotypes: O, A, C, South African Territories (SAT) 1, SAT2, SAT3, and Asia1. These serotypes are lack of cross-protection even among variants of the same serotype. This study aimed to isolate and identify the SAT2 serotype from Iraqi cattle, using molecular techniques and cell culture methods. A total of 100 samples, including the tongue epithelial tissue and vesicular fluid, were collected from suspected FMD cases in Diyala, Baghdad, Kirkuk, Babylon, and Salahaddin provinces bet |
This study aimed to detect Babesia gibsoni (B. gibsoni) in dogs of different ages, sex and breeds in Baghdad province by microscopic and molecular investigations using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), sequencing, and phylogenetic analyses. The present study was investigated B. gibsoni in 310 blood samples of dogs for the period from December 2018 to September 2019 in Baghdad province, Iraq. The molecular study was carried out by using universal primers of Babesia spp. (PIRO-A and PIRO-B) and specific primers of B. gibsoni (BAGIF and BAGIR) products size of 410 bp and 488 bp fragments of 18S rRNA gene respectively. The clinical signs revealed higher percentage and specific clinical signs of B. gibsoni as depre

For this purpose, it was essential to isolate the molecular characterization of the virus from vaccinated broiler in Erbil, Iraq. Clinically, the infectious bursal disease is characterized by high mortality (10-15%) with hemorrhagic lesions on the breast and thigh muscles, hemorrhagic and edematous bursa of diseased chickens. In this study, the Bursa of Fabricus (BF) samples were collected between June 2018 and January 2019. Histopathological changes of the bursal sections showed

The objective of this study was to estimate the concentration of serum pregnancy-associated glycoprotein (PAG) during gestation using sheep ELISA kit in order to early distinguish between pregnant and non-pregnant ewes and the possible association with litter size, and fetal gender. Estrus was synchronized and blood samples were collected at day 0 (day of mating), 18, 30, 60, and 120 after mating from 18 Iraqi cross breed synchronized ewes. The result of PAG level (ng/ml) during estrus has shown insignificant difference between G1(CIDR group), G2(vaginal sponge group) and G3 (control group), while at day 18, 30, 60 and |
