Evaluation of Midazolam and Ketamine Preceding by Xylazine as General Anesthesia in Rabbits

     The present study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of use xylazine hydrochloride 5mg/kg BW as premedication and a mixture of midazolam and ketamine 3mg/kg BW, 40 mg/kg BW respectively. The effects of combination was estimated before injection drug as control and each15 min until 90min, on the induction of anesthesia, degree of analgesia, respiratory rate, body temperature and type of  recovery. Ten local breed rabbits were used in this study; all animals were done surgical operation (splitting Achilles tenotomy) to evaluated surgical anaesthesia. The result of this combination is reflected good induction of anaesthesia and good analgesia to animals and smooth recovery with miner complication.

The study was implemented to identify some the biological characteristics of 2428 hydatid cysts in 353 naturally infected animals out of 2781 slaughtered sheep in al-Shuula~area in Baghdad. The results revealed that 1669 cysts in 211 infected females and 759 cysts were presence 142infected males. The diameter of hydatid cysts varies from 0.1-16.4 cm . The present study was undertaken to search out thebeneficial effect of magnetized water on serumantioxidant, lipid profile and total protein of adult male rabbits. A study of Serum Steroid Hormones Concentrations Of Pregnant Cows

The objective of present work is to estimated peripheral blood serum concentrations of pregnancy
hormones, oestradiol , progesterone and testosterone , in cows . For this purpose 24 Frezain- Holstein
cows at different stages of pregnancy the blood samples were taken from jugular veins. The serum
were separated and frozen at – 20 c until analysis. The serum hormones were measured by a specific
ELISA technique (ELISA Linear Multi Reader). The data were represented Mean + S.D. Progesterone
was high during pregnancy reaching a maximum of 91.94 + 26.09 ng/ml during last thirds (6-8
months) of pregnancy , but was below 9.12 + 2.41 ng/ml for several months during the pregnancy.
