The experiment (1) dealt with 20 males and 20 female rats at 21 days of age, 10 rats of each sex were giving orally Ns oil at the rate of 1ml/kg/day for 30 days and the others left as a control group. Insignificant changes were occurred in hematological parameters except the white blood cells (WBCs), were significantly increased in treated groups (P<0.05). The treated groups showed significant increases in total protein and significant decreases in total cholesterol

The results showed increase of latency period to reach the novel object in L-arginine treated groups and decrease in both L-NAME and methylene blue treated groups in both periods of treatment (15 and 30) days and were more prominent in male than in female mice as compared with control groups. Similar results were observed in passive avoidance latency period to enter the dark compartment. There was a reduction in latency period to reach the alternative arm of T-maze test in L-arginine treated groups and increase in both L-NAME and methylene bl

The aims of the present study were to assess the effects of L-carnitine administration to pregnant mice on some parameters of reproductive performance and pregnancy outcome.
One hundred and five pregnant female mice Swiss albino strain mice age: 12-14 weeks were used in this study. Pregnant mice were divided randomly into three equal groups including control group (administered distilled water; DW), low dose group (T1) administered 0.5 mg/Kg L-carnitine and high dose group (T2) administered 1 mg/Kg L-carnitine. Daily administration of D.W. or L-carnitine was continued fr
In this study we collect 1520 stool samples during the period from September to December 2010 from children whom their ages between 1 month - 12 years. The results showed that the total infection of Entamoeba histolytica was 9.80% , and Giardia lamblia was 1.77%. And the male ratio that infected with Entamoeba histolytica was 9.83% , while the female ratio was 9.74%; and the male infected with Giardia lamblia was 1.51% , while the female ratio was 2.18%. The result showed that the high average of infection with Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia in age group from 1 month to 2 years. And there is no significance difference between gender and infectivity rate of Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia under P≤0.05. Also it showe

The histological study of the pecten oculi of falcon eyeball is consists from 11-12 pecten plates connected to the pectin bridge. The pectin oculi extending from optic nerve toward the virtous body. Its characterization are highly visualization and continuous capillary network which infiltrated by melanocyte. The pecten oculi without muscles and nerve fibers. The study revealed that cornea of falcon eyeball was characterized by fine curvature, translucent with peripheral thickness. The cornea occupied the quarter of fibrous tunica. It consists from five layers: - anterior corneal epithelium, Bowman's membrane, stroma, Descement's membrane and endothelium.
The effect of 1% methylene blue solution was investigated in this experimental trial for prevention and/or reduction of intra-abdominal adhesion formation, following induction of conventional laparotomy, by postmortem and histopathological confirmations, in a rabbit model. Twenty adult, male, local breed rabbits were used in the study. They were allocated randomly and equally into 2 groups; Control group (CG) and Treatment group (TG). All were subjected to mid-ventral conventional laparotomy under the effect of general anesthesia, and the ascending colon was exteriorized and its serosal and subserosal layers were mechanically abraded by a dry sterile soft toothbrush. In TG, 2ml of sterile 1% methylene blue was applied intrapretonially pr

The aim of this study was to evaluate the pyloromyotomy by conventional and laparoscopic techniques. Ten adult healthy dogs were used. Five animals underwent the pyloromyotomy by conventional and the same number laparoscopic technique. The clinical radiological and laparoscopic results of two techniques revealed that both were successive for achieved this purpose, but the laparoscopic pyloromoytomy characterized by small abdominal incision minimal adhesion and rapid healing.
