Synthesis, Identification, and Biological Activity Investigation of New Pyrazolines Derived from Vanillin
...Show More Authors

This work includes the synthesis of new pyrazoline derivatives 6-20 over two steps. The first step included a condensation between vanillin and various aromatic ketones (acetophenone, p-nitroacetophenone, p-chloroacetophenone, p-bromoacetophenone, and 2-acetylnaphthalene) to provide the corresponding chalcone derivatives 1-5 in high yields (up to 93%). The second step involved a reaction of 1-5 with hydrazine hydrate, phenyl hydrazine, and p-nitrophenyl hydrazine, which gave the desired products 6-20 in yields ranging from 60 to 85%. The structures of the prep

An Advanced Approach for Predicting ROP Stages: Deep Learning Algorithms and Belief Function Technique
...Show More Authors

A significant cause of blindness in preterm infants is retinal retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Early detection and intervention are essential for preventing visual loss. This study proposes an advanced approach for predicting ROP stages using deep learning algorithms and belief function theory. Three steps comprise the suggested technique: image pre-processing, feature extraction using deep learning models, and classification utilizing belief function theory. We used a dataset of 3720 retinal images from premature infants and achieved a classification accuracy of 95.57% for predicting ROP stages. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of deep learning algorithms and belief function theory in ROP diagnosis. This strategy can increase

Application of Electrical Resistivity Sounding in delineation of the Aquifer Transmissivity and Basement Structure at Igarra, Southwestern Nigeria
...Show More Authors

Information on the aquifer transmissivity and basement structure of Igarra, southwestern Nigeria, is scarce. Thus, this study aimed to apply electrical resistivity sounding and drilled borehole information to determine the underlying bedrock structure (basement structure) and the aquifer transmissivity of Igarra. Twenty vertical electrical soundings (VES) were carried out along 4 established E-W traverses intending to intercept the fracture systems. The resistivity data acquired were curved matched, and iterated using Schlumberger O' Neil software to obtain layer parameters. The layer parameters were evaluated to obtain the Dar-`Zarrouk parameters, which were used to determine the aquifer transmissivity. The resistivity-sounding

A Survey on Image Caption Generation in Various Languages
...Show More Authors

The image caption is the process of adding an explicit, coherent description to the contents of the image. This is done by using the latest deep learning techniques, which include computer vision and natural language processing, to understand the contents of the image and give it an appropriate caption. Multiple datasets suitable for many applications have been proposed. The biggest challenge for researchers with natural language processing is that the datasets are incompatible with all languages. The researchers worked on translating the most famous English data sets with Google Translate to understand the content of the images in their mother tongue. In this paper, the proposed review aims to enhance the understanding of ima

Let Κ be a proper ideal of a commutative ring S. Then Κ is a strongly irreducible (SI)  ideal if for any two ideals C and D of S, C∩D⊆ Κ implies C ⊆ Κ or D ⊆ Κ. We say a ring is strongly irreducible (SI) if all its ideals are strongly irreducible. In this paper some properties of such ring are given. The relations between SI rings and some types of rings are also studied. Furthermore, for an SI ring S we study the S spectrum of S and the S.spec(S)  topology.

Recently, cloud computing has affected a large part of the computer industry, including software companies and internet service providers. It has proven efficient in managing tasks for applications. Despite its popularity, cloud computing does not meet the requirements of applications because it faces many limitations, such as high latency and bandwidth bottlenecks. These limitations will significantly affect applications sensitive to delays. To meet this challenge, fog computing is introduced as an extension to cloud computing. It improves quality of service (QoS) for applications that suffer from latency by keeping resources and services close to the end-user. How to efficiently and fairly allocate the available resources, e.g.,

The conjugated gradient methods can solve smooth functions with large-scale variables in the specified number of iterations for that they are highly important methods compared to concerning other iterative methods. In this paper, we propose two new conjugate gradient methods, namely the PMDL-1 and PMDL-2. However, for non-smooth functions, which are called conjugate gradient-free derivative methods depending on the projection technique. The two methods give  great results compared to the basic PDL method. Moreover, we provide theorems that prove the global convergence between these two methods.

Extremism Detection in the Iraqi Dialect Based on Machine Learning

Extremism detection is an important area of natural language processing (NLP). It is used to detect hate speech, sectarianism, and terrorism on social media. This field has been discussed and studied in many international languages, especially Arabic and English, as many studies touched on languages in particular, but dialects were not addressed even though users of social networking sites write in their dialect. One of the most difficult Arabic dialects is the Iraqi dialect. Because the Iraqi dialect has few sources on the Internet regarding available data that can be used by researchers, this research aims to detect extremism in Iraqi texts using machine learning. The data was pre-processed by deleting suffixes and prefixes for Iraqi w

This research aims to study the behavior of solutions of second-order neutral differential equations with periodic coefficients. Some necessary and sufficient conditions have been obtained that classify all solutions of these equations into three categories: either oscillatory, non-oscillatory, and convergent to zero, or non-oscillatory and divergent. The extent to which periodic coefficients influence the occurrence of oscillation, convergence, or divergence for each solution has been explained. The equation under consideration contained a variable delay and a constant delays in which the coefficients are periodic. Not much previous research has discussed the oscillation of solutions of second-order neutral equations with periodic coeff
